I am a little hyper active right now, actually I have been all night, I don't know why I haven't had any candy all week. I know this is a spectacular feat for me, but I am doing pretty well. Practice today was swell, how I love running sprints, with the added bonus of jump ropes this time, talk about fun. Coach told me I get my number 23 today, another girl wanted it, but she said I confirmed first and have put in more work, so it is mine. I don't really care that much about numbers but still it is nice to be rewarded. I've discovered that most everyone here wants to copy off me, every time I do an assignment someone is asking me for help or answers. Sometimes it makes me mad, why should I do all the work and they get all the credit, I understand if it's once and a while but it is getting overwhelming. I am learning to say no though. We had a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting today and it went really well, we had over twenty kids come which is a large amount, especially on the first meeting. I think I will like it a lot these are people I actually have things in common with, it should be fun. And the best part of the night...I didn't eat nasty cafeteria food for dinner. Me and Kristi went to the local Taco-Chicken and it was delicious, mmmm chicken. I am going home this weekend to babysit so I probably won't post again until Sunday that is if I can drag myself to the computer, basketball officially starts, which means double practices, at least fall break starts Wednesday : )

Me=TIRED!! I have been going straight since eight this morning and I just got back to my room, it has been a busy, wearing day. I had two basketball practices, which suck up a lot of energy, classes, library hours, weights, work program, everything crammed into one day. Painting was fun again it is just me and a bunch of sophmores, but we have a good time, and get nice and messy. Green really is a lovely color on skin. Tomorrow I slow down a little but not too much and I have an entire history paper to write, at least this time, I already have all the info and the bibliography, so I just have to write it. By the way I am eating Goldfish and they are D-E-Lightful, mmmm Cheese. Now I have moved onto Cheetos, I know not good, but I think I get enough exercise to escape the freshman fifteen. Okay random information time: Justin cut his hair into a mowhawk and sent me a picture, let me just say it is NOT attractive. He seems to think it is cool though, this I would expect from Kale, not GQ Justin. Oh well he can look retarded all he wants at Monmouth, but if he comes home he is wearing a hat : )

Okay so I tried to post last night but my internet was down. I actually wrote a blog on Kristi's computer since her internet worked and but for some reason it wouldn't publish. Yesterday was pretty normal minus the fence painting experience, which was a lot of fun. We got into a huge fight and I was covered in green it was entertaining, no worries it came off. Exciting news: someone down the hall might be moving out and if she does my roomate might move into her room, which means I would be FREE! So fingers crossed and lots of praying I hope she does. Today was packed with stuff for me today. I got up early because I thought we had weights walked to the weightroom and then realized that we didn't have them, good start to my morning. Well then I had class all afternoon which pushed straight into a good hour of full court sprints, talk about fun. After that my softball team played the staff in a game, it was a blast and really fun to watch them play. Okay Greg this is for you to be totally jealous of: I played with Marcus Griffin and was joking around with him the whole time, I know you wish you were me. He is really nice and funny, but he sucks at softball : )Coach took us to Bonanza for supper which honestly I am really sick off because that is the only place I ever go, not for a while though, I am taking a break. Tried to get a library hour in after we got back but to no avail. Apparently the Librarian got mad at some kids in there and she closed it an hour early. I got a whole 30 minutes in, not helpful. Since my desires of studying, haha, were ruined Kaylee and I mourned with at good game of Sonic, it was spectacular. Then I went to a campus Bible study thingy for awhile. It was interesting, stepping out of my comfort zone, but I think it will be good. But I have weights tomorrow, for sure this time, so I gotta go.

I am writing this in Kristi's room for some odd reason the internet does not work upstairs in my room, hopefully it's back up by tomorrow. Today went by quickly, started the day off with 7:30 basketball, hurray for 20 minute runs. Then I went to class all day which was boring. We are watching the Breakfast Club in Honors English for a paper, I personally do not think the movie is good. The whole plot is pretty blah, but what can you do. After lunch and a quick half hour of Nintendo I had to go to work. We were out there painting for a solid two hours, but it was fun. By the end we were in a paint fight, I closely resemble as I like to call it the Jolly Green Giant, the other girls said Shrek, take your pick. This was all Cherie's doing she took it upon herself to paint me green, no worries she picked up some color herself. Coach thinks we will still have six more hours of painting to get the fence finished, oh well that's money for me. After supper I decided to take a walk...by myself...don't worry it was daylight, I had my phone, and I was right by or on campus. But yeah I enjoyed it. Then I spent the rest of the night watching CBS, because Monday Nights rule, especially CSI. Here's a random story people in my dorm now call me captain because I did a dumb dance for the dance coach and she said I made captain. She wants me to do it at tryouts, just to freak the real dancers out, should be fun.

Won both our games today by a lot. The weather held up suprisingly well and it was a good day. Mom, Dad, and Grandma came to the games so that was nice. Justin was supposed to but had to do a radio show or something. After the game we went to Abby, one of our pitchers, house where her parents had grilled out for us and made us dinner. It was a lot of fun and enjoyable to eat at a house instead of at a restuarant or the nasty cafeteria. My arm has been pretty sore lately, especially tonight, but I have been icing as much as possible. Kinda worn out from being outside all day so just showered and watch Finding Nemo in Kristi's room. Good thing I thought ahead and finished all my homework last night there is no way I could focus on it tonight. I have to start my workstudy tomorrow at 1:00 right now we are just working on painting the backside of the fence green, shouldn't be too hard, I hope the weather is nice. Well I have basketball at 7:3o in the morning and seeing as I am dragging I need as much sleep as I can attempt to get, what?

Weekends here are so boring, but busy, I know it's sort of an oxymoron. Well they are busy because of softball, we played in Spoonriver today and won both games. I went 3-5 with three RBI, but who really cares. I also played around the field today with bouts at third, second, and left field, I make the rounds. It was a long afternoon, the games seemed to take forever. After they were over Coach took us to Monicals for dinner, I love Monicals so it was really good. It was fun to hang out with my teamates also, although we are a little out of control. We didn't get back to Licoln until around 7:30 so it was a long day. I had to finish a history test when we got back, five pages of essay questions, fun fun. Okay so I have this issue I went to bed last night around 12:30 because I was tired well I had been asleep for about an hour or so and then my roomate came up. I woke up because she had been brought up by two other girls because she was drunk. This bothers me, not only because it was the night before a game, but because it is stupid. I really don't want to live with her anymore and if it happens again I am going to talk to the RA, because then I have a better reason for wanting her to leave. I honestly don't care what she does or if she drinks, but I have a lot more going on than she does and don't need the distractions and lack of sleep. Especially when basketball kicks back in and I have morning practices, classes, games, homework, whatever, I don't know it just frustrates me.

Welcome to Friday night and I am.....well tired. I know I really don't fit that college cliche of partying and drinking all the time, not even on the weekend, but honestly I don't care and I would rather not fit that mold. So I spent the day cleaning up my room, doing homework, hanging out with Nicole, playing Nintendo, and watching Friends, but I enjoyed it. Mom and Brent came down tonight to bring me warm clothes from home it has been cooling down quickly around here and well I was cold. Random interuption I am listening to Billy Joel right now, does that make me a dork, We didn't start the fire, it's a good song. Okay back to life we ate at Steak 'n' Shake, and I had a carmel apple shake, those things are awesome. Last year I had one after every football game with my friends, I miss that a lot. Other than that we just ran through some stores and picked some stuff up. I actually just got done putting away all my clean laudry which I didn't do again, thanks Mom. Also I had to clean some more, I don't know I just like order. I think I will spend the rest of the night watching Big Daddy and reading, exciting I know but it works, I am worn down from this cold and the lack of sleep it has caused me. Plus I have to play a double header tomorrow so hopefully those hyped up storms don't come through, or if they do it's before we leave.

Alright here goes the recap of important things of the day: Weights went fine, and I didn't have to run for basketball again today since we had a game. Class was okay, boring but oh well, I got through the day. I was pretty hopped up on cold medicine and sugar all day so I was bouncing off the walls, I am about to hit crashpoint. The games tonight were good, okay I guess the game was good. We sucked our first game, but I really didn't care I was just excited to see Kelsey and that was fun. The second game went a lot smoother and we won so that was helpful. I hit really well two doubles and a single, one double hit the top of the fence in center field which is 18 feet deeper than right or left, too bad I didn't pull it. I did through my arm out though, it feels a little better, I threw the ball home and it just went dead, fun times. The other exciting thing was that a lot of people that I miss came to the game, Michelle and Nick, Sara, the Finchums, Norma and Sarah, okay so a bunch of really awesome people, let's leave it at that. I also had a juke fest with Che on the field, lets just say I got some mean rythm, it was really funny. Then I went to Bonanza with the Finchums, and we met Kelsey there, it was spectacular, I miss them a whole lot and it was nice to catch up. Okay so this is unecessary information but I really have to pee so I must be off.

  • Bad things that have happend to me today: I couldn't sleep last night because I coughed all morning. I had to get up early and lift weights. I am still sick. I had to leave class once because I was coughing so much.
  • Good things that have happend to me today: I lifted weights this morning and wasn't sore. I ate Go-Gurt and Lucky Charms for breakfast...mmm. My teacher thought my descriptive paper was really good. I got 140% on my Biology class. I am getting a 103% in Biology. I improved in individuals today. I was able to take a nice hour nap before softball practice. The weather outside was beautiful this afternoon. Softball didn't get over until 4:30 and was a lot of fun. I missed all of the basketball running because softball was long, this was amazing. We had steak, real steak, for dinner, it was sooo good, we also had an awesome potato bar. I got a solid hour of library time in tonight, only one more for the week. I finished all my homework and got my notes together for my Psychology test tomorrow. I got to go to Wal-mart. I went to LCC for church. The worship was awesome and I got to see Autumn. We brought a friend, Brittany, with us. I saw Chelsea Jones, who I haven't seen since CIY and that was nice. And we play Kelsey TOMORROW, I am very excited : )

I usually love fall but have come to the conclusion that at a school without football the season is just not necessary. All it does is causes me to be cold when I walk to class and makes me fell sicker (not a word I know). But really fall should not be experienced on a nonfootball campus, it's pretty sure, but it's generall purpose is null and void. We practiced outside for softball today, let's just say it really didn't help my cough, but oh well, we didn't really do too much work. Basketball on the other had was work as always, today we didn't do 20 minute runs, but a solid 45 minutes of full court sprints and lines with a 2 minute break in the middle. Talk about a good time : ) We had an on campus youth group thing tonight called G.R.O.W. I really enjoyed it and it was easier for me to go to because it's just across campus. The only bad part was I had to leave twice because I started coughing really bad, I think the other kids think I am diseased oh well. Okay so I have to lift, go to individuals, and go to basketball, and softball practice tomorrow so I better go attempt to sleep.

I just went to my drawer to get some Nyquil to take and something had spilled all over in there. Turns out it was laundry spray, the top had somehow come unscrewed and it leaked. That is the third mess I have had to clean up today the second in just that drawer. One was the Nyquil spilling the other was my candle on my candle warmer exploded at some point in time. The bottom half of the glass broke into pieces and there was wax everywhere. I still don't think I 've cleaned it all up yet. So basketball this morning, yeah that was a good time. Nothing like waking up to a good morning two mile jog, that starts the day off right especially when I can hardly breath. No worries though I made it through with just a little coughing and wheezing. Also got a lot of homework done today didn't really feel like leaving the room much so I got as much done as possible and watched a lot of TV. CSI Miami started tonight I love that show and it was spectacular. Kelsey and Jessie called tonight I haven't seen them in awhile they seem to be doing good we play Kelsey's team on Thursday, should make for an interesting night. Okay so the taste of the Nyquil is chilling in mouth and it is disgusting so I really need to go brush my teeth.

So about how I have an awesome cold and I'm not loving it. I have basketball at 7:30 tomorrow morning, I think it just might kill me. This weekend was fun, besides softball today, we sucked, and it rained. Not ordinary rain though, freezing cold rain right through our mesh jerseys...now that's comfortable. Spent Friday night at Frantz's with Alex, Kale, and my Nintendo, with a little Monicals thrown in the middle. Mmmm Monicals. Saturday I went and watched Dani play, they lost but played well and then went to the old Dairy Barn end of the year bash. I got a bag of sweet stuff and 12 dollars just for going so I am not complaining. Ate with the Famila tonight at Bonanza, good times, let's just say their food is about 100 times better than what I eat here. Mom bought me a box of Lucky Charms though so that should get me through the week. Went to Jay and Ambers tonight for awhile it was an enjoyable evening had by all, just like usuall : ) I know they miss me like crazy when I am not around so I have to go visit so Jay stops crying himself to sleep, haha you know you love me. They did hook me up with some stellar cold medicine and a bunch of candy though so I guess they are amazing, but they know that. Well I must be off this night time stuff is making me drowsy...hopefully I can sleep through the night that would be a rariety.

Unecessary Information: I frequently bust into random dance moves whenever I feel like it. I am not good and realize this but it just doesn't stop me. Softball practice is always a good time for a little "jukefest" or what I like to call dance party. My teamates are so jealous of my groove, they act like I can't dance, it's sad actually. Also I love eyepatches, I own quite a few myself and like to wear them to places where they are not the usuall attire. Once more softball is a delightful place to sport your finest piece of black cloth to cover your eye, it is a nice little accessory for every outfit. And again everyone is extremely envious of how good I look "Hey everybody look how good I look," a little Will Ferrell for everyones enjoyment. The things I say are usually completely off the wall and out of no where much like this blog and I have reached the conclusion that, yes, contrary to popular belief, I am just not normal...not that I want to be. Average people are just too boring who wants to look, act, talk, and dress the same as everyone else. The answer to that not me. Now that I have enlightened you all on the life of Carrie you can all live a happier tomorrow, I know I am just that highly intriguing. P.S. I won't be here this weekend until Saturday so try not to miss my ramblings too much they shall return on Sunday!

Right now I am feeling really good even though I have been going all day long and have a cold. I am feeling good in a mindset then I guess. This is why. Firstly I got my health paper which is due tomorrow done in the hour time slot I had and finished my basketball hours by doing so. Then I got to relax for a little bit which has not been occuring too often this week, before Mom and Brent came. They brought me a fan to battle the possesed air conditioner. We went to Wal-mart and I got some things I had been needing for class. When we got back I tidied my room up which always makes me feel good for some odd reason. After that I went down to Kristi's room and had a really nice talk with her. A girl here who doesn't have many friends stopped by while we were in there and I talked to her and helped her out by exchanging change with her so she could do her laudry. She was really relieved and I felt good for helping her out, it even fulfills my Following journal activity for the week, do something nice for someone you don't really know. All night Kristi and I had been talking a lot about church so I brought her a few Christian books I had in my room. It was funny she had made a list at confrence last summer of books she wanted to read and I had two of the three of them. I also got a few in return and can't wait to read them, I am what my brothers refer to as a dork, but eh what can you do.

We have possessed air conditioners in our dorm they turn on and off every five seconds. It gets rather annoying, I guess they are on an automatic turnoff if it gets to a certain temperature outside. Since it has been cool here all week it's like someone keeps flipping a power switch on and off and I can't take it anymore, it must be turned off. My body is killing me, I think I am getting sick, apart from muscle soreness from working out. We ran twenty minutes for basketball today and I made it, it wasn't fun, but I didn't even really struggle, I suprised myself. I have been getting frustrated though, some of the girls on the team are from the inner city and are used to the run and gun style of play. To put it lightly, they don't pass, no matter who no matter where, they are gonna shoot, regardless of if they have a good shot. Coach says it won't be like that in season she has already yelled at them a few times, but I don't see them as the type of players who will listen anyways, oh well season hasn't even started and it's just a couple of the girls. Other than that I have enjoyed playing here. Softball was cancelled today since it rained all day long and was freezing cold which is good but means that tomorrow I have weights in the morning, class all afternoon, basketball individuals, softball practice, and then basketball practice. I will be a loooong day, especially since I am a little under the weather so I better go get some sleep.

I think it's storming outside. I hate storms so I am not going to get up and look out the window, I'm just gonna leave it at, I think. Good enough for me. I am tired, well not really but a little. I had this crazy good idea to run on the treadmill today to help for basketball since the gym has been closed. Up to today I didn't even know we had a treadmill, all those treasure hunts this summer helped a lot on my journey. Well back to the running I had this idea that since we have to do a twenty minute run sometime this week that I would run for fifteen minutes just to see if I could. Those treadmill's are addicting I was running and couldn't stop, I was dripping with sweat, the weight room was four hundred degrees, but I still wouldn't stop. I ended up running for 25 minutes and walking 5, at the time I felt good, tired but good. That all stopped once I stepped off. Who knew going for that long made your body all crazy, it's like getting off a trampoline and jumping, just weird. Okay so now I am kinda sore and my body worn out, oh well it will fade...hopefully since I have softball and basketball practice tomorrow. By the way I played Super Mario Bros. 3 for a solid two hours today with my friends and it was amazing...no worries Mom I spent an hour and fifteen minutes in the library first, I am just a spectacular person like that: )I have become re-addicted to Harry Potter so I really must go read, I know I am a loser, deal with it.

Been jampacked with softball games this weekend. We ended up splitting both series, although we should have won all four no problem. We have been playing lax though since it's fall ball, still we aren't too bad, especially compared to last years team. Got the nasty bus on Saturday but today we got a really nice one with lots of room and no diseases, at least that I know of. The place in Rochester we played at today did have an awesome slushie place at the fields so we all downed ourselves a couple of those, just what I need more sugar. We chased softball with video game night and lots of snacks, it was a good time. I think people thought we were drunk though because we were really hyper and laughing really loud in the parking lot, not to worry we were just high on Sonic. Cherie even came over to visit she thinks I am nuts and refers to me as Jim Carey or Adam Sandler, I told her I would prefer a girls name but whatever. Oh and this weird boy keeps talking to me here and keeps asking me to hang out, which I have yet to do, he's a little off, not that I'm all on but still. He thinks we are best friends I have never even purposely talked to him, but I guess that doesn't matter. I have to lift weights again in the morning my basketball schedule has really picked up this week, should be a good time of sweating. Well I need to go see if Chris is here yet he is coming to pick up his cafeteria card, would'nt want him to starve, well not really!

Haven't done much of anything today and I am not complaining. I did take my first college test this morning, contemporary history, and I think I did pretty well. I am a dork and watch the history channel and read the paper a lot I guess that helps. Played some mean games of Sonic the Hedgehog today, I am awesome to put it lightly : ) It's been three weeks here and I keep thinking maybe I should start doing something productive but so far everytime I've thought about it I voted it down, vetoes are very powerfull. Oh I may have a job on campus now, it's a work study program for my softball coach. All I do is paint the fence and pretty much do field work, sounds alright to me. I think I work about 70 hours and make about 500$, that's enough to cover me for quite a while and I wouldn't want to cut too deep into my Nintendo time. Went and watched Brent play again tonight they lost, so did the varsity, this was a game they actually were thought to have a chance in, so much for that. We leave tomorrow morning for Champaign our team is playing th U of I club, it will probably be a long hot day, if it doesn't rain. Hopefully this time we don't get stuck on diseased bus, I don't think I could take catching tuberculosis, I hear it's pretty bad : )

Thursday, September 07, 2006

Started the day off early with some weight lifting...my arm is killing me. It's fun let me tell you, then spent the whole day at class followed directly by softball practice. I wore gym shorts and a t-shirt all day and didn't even feel bad about it, I am such a slacker. Michelle and Nick came today since the boys had a home baseball game so I spent a few hours sitting out and catching up with them and Sara who also was there. I missed them so it was good to see them, I can't believe how big Nick is getting, it's amazing I know babies grow. After quick dinner and my last library hour Kristi and I went to Bloomington in search of a new catchers mit for her, we didn't find one and our only purchases were cd's and candy, such is the life of a college student. We watched a movie when we got back and then I spent the rest of the night down in the lobby talking to Gator since it is her night to be on duty, lots of random kids enter and exit our dorm and I have come to the conclusion that most reek of smoke and alcohol...mmmm that's nice, I'm sooo jealous : ) Tomorrow is Friday hurray too bad my weekend is packed with softball roadtrips, oh well it should be fun.

I just got back from church at the Christian College across town and the service was really good. It's put on by the students for the students, I enjoyed it a lot, one thing I have been missing here at school is my youth group, and this looks to be a good filler for this void. The speaker tonight did a great job, he is one of the professors at the school, and did a sermon on the jealousy of God it was interesting. I ran into Chris while I was there he is leaving for Michigan tonight to go out and be a soccer grass fairy, but he did give me his caf card so I could get some free snacks, too bad I didn't use it because serivice got out late. Oh well he had a nice thought, so I'll give it too him. Encouraging news that really pertains to no one who reads this but I thought was good, Ryan and Carrie Komnicks baby Brantson had open heart surgery this week and Mom called and said it went well and he is doing really good. This is relieving news, his parents and pretty everyone at church and who new them were really worried, but it's great to hear all went well. On a completely different note I have become quite th professional library goer this week, two days and I already have three hours, today I even did my homework....after reading the paper of course : ) Well I have to lift tomorrow morning so I better go try to get some sleep.

At the moment I am freezing cold, my room feels like I am at Greg & Denise's otherwise know as the arctic, cold butt cold. Today wasn't too eventful, I did run to class this morning because I thought I was late. First off I forgot what room it was in so luckily I saw Cody running and followed him well when we got there we still had ten minutes before class, apparently my watch is fast. No worries I reset it. I have actually spent two hours in the library today so I am half way done. The funny thing is I did no studying whatsoever I read the Pantagraph and played on the computer. I am going to play off the paper reading as research for my comtemporary history class, I know I am clever. But seriously the library is sooo boring and even though I have a paper due Friday for Honor's Comp. I can't sit in there and write it, I get way to distracted. Softball practice was cancelled today, oh well my shoulder's a little sore, so instead I went to basketball, a half an hour of push ups' sit up's, leg lift's, and wall sit's basically anything that makes your abs burn and legs shake. Good times let me tell you. Then we went to the Rec and played ball for about a hour or so, it got a little tiring, so we came back for dinner and a shower. This was followed by a nightly walk, some hanging out in the library, and some Bug's Bunny's Birthday Bash on Nintendo. I got mad because I can't seem to beat Yosimite Sam and quit, I am sure I will battle him out again tomorrow. Well I am pretty sure my fingers now have frost bite so I need to go before they turn into ice cubes and fall off, the air conditioner must be turned down if I want to survive the night!

This weekend was really busy, but also a lot of fun. Saturday we kicked off our fall softball season by splitting two games at Edwardsville, we rode the oldest trashiest bus there and we though we were all gonna catch some disease from it, but as of now I am healthy : ) Then I hurried back to Joel and Sara's wedding reception, it was a lot of fun to see my family and just hang out, they are pretty hillarious. Plus my cousins picked me out more than one in the scary wedding boyfriend department, I am set for life, they were some hotties. By the way I made it all the way back all by myself and only got off track once (which I flawlessly recovered from), my family was proud, but Josh says next time I get lost not to let anyone know. I'll work on that but everyone knows I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut. Oh so about how I have an infatuation with eye patches the whole night at the reception I kept making fun of my cousin Keith for having one when he was little, and I have come to the conclusion that I am wearing one for Thanksgiving just to give him a hard time. He and his wife Ashleigh are expecting so I decided I will also buy one for their baby also, the kid has a bright future :) It's okay I can make fun of my family because I love them and they all realize they are a little off not that I am not. Sunday I played two more softball games we won them both and then went to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa which was good. And today all I did was buy a new Nintendo and some more games to feed my addiction. Kelsey came by tonight which was fantastic, she got here courtesy of a sweet map Jay drew for her (you should definately become a professional cartographer "Dad"), we played some Nintendo and just chilled, it was a swell time. Tomorrow library hours start it should be a good time, I have to have five a week, here's to hoping I make it.

Unique New York, Unique New York. Okay so I just got done watching Anchorman and it was spectacular, Kristi, Buse, and I had a party. We are pretty much the only one's here four people are in my whole dorm...they're softball players as well. As you can tell the place is hopping, I don't really care we had fun tonight by ourselves. Amber came and took me to lunch today, it was a good time, like always, time spent with me is always awesome :) Then I went back to their house to see "Dad" cause he loves me and missed me so much. I know seeing my face made his whole week, haha. But in all truth it was nice to see them and catch up since I pretty much lived at their house all summer. Also caught Brent's football game tonight they won, he almost played good : ) just kidding he is the best player on his team by far, but I can't admit that freely because we're related. We have a tournament at SIU Edwardsville tomorrow and we leave at like ten in the morning, then right when I get back I have to hurry to get to my cousins wedding reception. Sadly enough I always enjoy my cousins weddings they give me a chance to see my family which I usually only see on holidays, that's too much crazy on too few days, the wedding help spread it out : ) Stay Classy San Deigo
