I didn't write last night because I didn't get in until 11:30...and I had to be up at 5 for basketball. My chem test wasn't as bad as I thought it would be I hope my grade reflects that. I got birthday cards from the Sondgeroths yesterday. Taylor's card made my day, why are little kids so darn cute. Creative writing was workshopping and I didn't have philosophy class, which was awesome. Yesterday was off day for basketball too so that was a nice break for my body. We went to listen to Tim O'Brien speak at ISU for writing class. It was interesting, I love O'Briens work and was legitimately excited to hear him. It was good. Bible Study came next, I love Thursday nights. Kelsey C. bought me cupcakes for my birthday with glow in the dark spider rings right up my alley. We didn't have any candles so we lit a match, it was a nice touch, ha. We had a lot of fun.
Practice came far to early today, I don't like seeing 5 am. It wasn't bad I was just struggling to focus. Work followed right after. It was a tiring morning and by the time I got back to my room at 10:30 some sleep was in order. Passed out for a good while got up in time for lunch, sweet and sour pork, good stuff. Ran errands throughout the afternoon. I am trying to registar for next semesters classes which can be tricky. Chilled out for the afternoon. Ashley called and we talked for awhile, I miss my LC crew. I then went back to work at 5. We have a new scan in system for the Shirk Center. It is run off a lap top, which meant I could actually do some homework. I wrote a complete story and got payed for it. It would be nice to have that computer all the time. I was going to go to the football game tonight but opted out. Cold and rainy? I wasn't feeling it. Instead I stayed in and relaxed I have had a crazy week felt good to unwind. I talked to Jerred for awhile, that hadn't happend in a long time, it was nice to catch up. I am SO excited for tomorrow it isn't even funny. I have been counting down the days. I get to go to LC and see all my friends, Coach T, Coach W, and some of my teachers. It is alumni weekend for basketball, this is my first time back since graduation, I cannot wait. I have practice from 10-12 then it's a whole afternoon full of people I love!

Happy Birthday to Me!
Today was and is for 40 more minutes my 21st birthday. Honestly it was not exciting or really unordinary at all. I guess that is just what becomes of birthdays when you get older. My basketball team was all about wishing me happy birthday all day though that was funny. Oh and the 12 am and early morning texts and phone calls were pleasant. Facebook has become the spreader of all birthday wishes though. My first present of the day was getting up at 6:30 for post conditioning testing. We ran around, jumped a little, and pretty much wasted our time and sleep. Slept for a bit before chem class. That was my second present of the day, I hate chem class. Slept a little bit more, almost missed lunch but made it. Off to creative writing where we read stories and talked it up. Third present of the day was philosophy class, with a bonus reading quiz, and ten extra minutes of class added just for my joy. Well not really but still. Next came practice. I actually enjoy practice, well minus the fact that I am confused a lot of the time as to how to run certain drills and plays. Fourth present came in the form of end of practice conditioning although it was not that bad. Had a quick shower then off to dinner with Mom and Brent. We went to Applebee's I had a steak it was yummy. I also had my first legal drink, a strawberry daiquiri. It was good, but I have discovered my body just really doesn't enjoy alcohol too much. Went to minimester Bible Study, cause that is what most people do on their 21st, haha. It was interesting and I like talking to Pete and the other college kids there, they are funny people, make me smile. Thanks for the cards, greetings, and all other birthday pleasantries they were appreciated. Tomorrow is an uber busy crazy day so sleep is now.

Today's 10
I'm still up and I need not be so here's my attempt at quick.
1. BJHS started the day, we did a tricky word puzzle game about the periodic table.
2. Education class was all discussing registration so it wasn't bad. And I got a B on my midterm.
3. I went to the business office to pick up a paper and ended up in there filling out forms and signing papers for things of which I don't understand, probably not a good choice.
4. Worked on my lab with Holly then napped till practice.
5. Practiced, still working on getting things down, but so far enjoying myself and working hard.
6. Went to Justin's for dinner. We had boneless fried chicken, salad from the farmers market, fresh green beans, and mashed potatoes and gravy, it was tasty.
7. My car did NOT get towed this time...I parked on the street:)
8. Went to Encounter, the sermon was on being childlike, I liked it a lot.
9. Reminisced about the elementary school PE days with the parachute, it was pretty intense.
10. Hung around the campus house talking and being happy when I should have been sleeping.
Now I'm out, 7am post conditioning testing, what a birthday present.

Busy Weekend
This is gonna be long, just a warning...
Friday: Got up and headed to work, spent the morning reading some Ed. stuff. Met Amber at the Olive Garden for lunch. As I hadn't seen her since August this was some much needed catch up time, and the food was good. Spent the afternoon working on homework, I know I'll have a busy week next week. Just trying to get ahead and reduce the stress. It was Coach Thomas birthday so I called him. We talked for awhile it was great to hear from him. It also reminded me why I don't call so often...makes me miss him way too much. Coach Wilson called me too, they were both catching up and wondering about basketball. I told them I was nervous, they both told me the same thing, "you'll be fine." It was nice to hear. Worked for 2 more hours then headed home for football. The first quarter was really good, even most of the first half. Then it was downhill. Still Brent played well threw for 2 TDs. Kelsey came to the game so I hung out with her and also spent some time talking with the Sondgeroths. Came back and went to bed nervous about starting practice in the morning.
Saturday: Chelsea called me at 2 am. I was so confused and thought it was my alarm and I was late for practice. Took me a few but I settled down and slept some more. Got up and headed to practice #1 of the day. We had a team prayer led by Coach before we started. I didn't know people did that, I was impressed. Practice wasn't bad. We don't run sprints, I love it. We run full ocurt drills and everyone actually works hard so there is no need. I did just fine just a little confused as I try to learn the drills, new offense and new defense. Still I am hopeful I will adjust. After practice I went to Dicks to look for basketball shoes, I didn't see any I liked. Went through Shoe Carnival as well I need new tennis shoes, mine are torn up. Once again failed. Came back and was exhausted so I napped before the next practice. Practice #2 was used for learning our new offense. Coach really breaks things down which I think will help me learn it. Still it is a very intense atmosphere, every mistake is pointed out. Can only make you better though I guess. I really like our Coaching staff so far we have four assistants which are pretty cool. I found out I didn't have morning practice on Sunday it was at 7. Excitedly I got to go to Auburn to see the my Lincoln friends. I wasn't expecting to get this luxury so I was stoked. I met Ashley at LC and as I was waiting Bridgett pulled up. I talked to her for a good 45 minutes, it was awesome to see her, I miss my Thomas family. We went onto Auburn where I got to see Nik, Cas, Chels, Ash, Alex, and Craig. It was soo much fun and I missed me friends, I am glad I got to go. We came back through Lincoln and Chels and Ash attempted to TP Coach Wilson's house with 2 rolls. They got them both caught in the tree, nicely done. We had to write on Coach T's truck and leave him a letter as well, just for old times sake. Got back around 1 and went to bed.
Sunday: Called my friend Stacie from ISU and took her to Jacob's Well with me this morning. I am glad I did the Cocco's weren't there and I would have been lost on my own. The service was good it was about God's humor. I'm kinda upset I'll only get to go there one more time before practice times get too early for me to make it. Took Stacie home and had just enough time to get Sunday Brunch at the caf. It was delicious, carved ham, hashbrowns, bacon, biscuits, pancakes, sausage links, and fresh fruit, mmm mmm. Relaxed for a bit watching some football then headed to work. I did my Chemistry, read the Sunday paper, and watched the Packers own...and got payed for it. Attempted to grab a quick dinner before 7 practice, except Sunday dinner sucks. I opted for left over Olive Garden and some Baked Lays. Off to practice. We did a lot of full court drills tonight and our legs were a bit sore so it was a little rougher today. We also learned a new press, did shooting drills, and offensive rotations. Came back and finished my Ed paper. I am already relived that I have gotten so much for the week done. I also got laundry done and put away like 4 loads since I hadn't put clean clothes away in 2 weeks. That was a stress relieving accomplishment as well. Cleaned up the rest of the room, showered, and chilled out. Now it is time for bed.

Run Carrie Run
I woke up this morning not wanting to go to chemistry, although I never do. Something about that class just doesn't entertain me and makes it drone on forever. I sit there everyday promising myself that if I sit through the whole thing I can come back and sleep. It's not that I'm tired that class just bores me to sleep. I got through then had a midterm confrence with my creative writing professor. She interests me, I like to talk to her. She's from the city and everything small town and countryesque astounds her. After our confrence I went to the library and did some homework. Watched a little tv in the room then headed to lunch. The nacho bar was a bit disapointing today. Creative writing class was discussing the story "Communist" by Richard Ford, I didn't like it, I don't know just wasn't the best thing I've ever read. Off to Philosophy where I am also bored to tears. I spent most of the class texting people instead of listening. Really I can't believe they let me in this school of brains. After class I didn't have practice but was told we should do something active. It was a beautiful day out so I went for a run, a 4 mile one at that, across town. It felt good and energized me up. Showered then went to dinner at BWW with Kelsey, it was delicious and nice to catch up. Ran through the mall on my way back, I need new shoes, but found nothing in my range. Talked to Chelsea and Ashley for a long time via facebook then headed to small group. It was midterm fun week so we went to one of the girls appartments had cake, talked, and made encouragement cards for other students it was fun. I'm feeling a bit tired now so I need to go see my pillow.

Called Out
I should be sleeping...instead I shall blog. I got to sleep in today well kinda, but it was still appreciated. Went to BJHS, my girls didn't have any homework. I entertained them with my wit and sarcasm, or at least I threw a lot of that out there. Came back to work. My boss came and asked me where I was Sunday. I was supposed to work for an hour but didn't. He wasn't mad didn't seem to really care, but really man? Everyone else either misses or comes in extremely late and he never even knows, tough break. Grabbed a quick lunch of some chicken fingers then hit up Education class. We are discussing a book by John Kozol called "Letters to a Young Teacher." Its actually kind of interesting, I've even managed to read most of it. Lab followed quickly. We do some crazy stuff in there but its usually fun. No I have no idea what the procedures mean or why we do them but I oh and ahh at all the changes like everyone else. After class I ran to Walmart and Aldi's to pick stuff up. That is the first time I have really bought food/products all year, it was exciting. Spent the evening doing homework and chilling out. Mom and Brent called so I went to eat at Cracker Barrel with them. Brent has developed an addiction to chicken and dumplings, I tried the blueberry pancakes, very tasty. Came back and slept before I had to go to work, I got real tired real quick. Work was boring, the girl I work with irratates me, but I did get to watch HOI sports for Bren's interview so I guess it worked out. Now onto bed.

I found my book! (although you didn't know it was missing)
After last nights events I was destined to have a better day today. Woke up and walked to Chem where I proceeded to engulf knowledge I will never again need once I am out of that class. I got my last test back I got a C+ and scored 10 points higher than last time. Progress is progress I guess. I was a bit exhausted this morning for some reason so I slept for a bit this afternoon. Then I spent the rest of my free time brushing up on Philosophy for my midterm. Lunch was breakfast, it was sooo good, I don't know why it just hit the spot. Creative writing was workshopping of our stories and we went over Tim O'Briens "The Things They Carried". I love Tim O'Brien crazy enough he is coming to campus on the 23, I am hoping to attend. Another crazy thing I found my textbook for that class today, it has been MIA for 2 weeks now, great relief. Philosophy test wasn't too bad just hard to keep conflicting arguments, premises, and authors straight. Hopefully my hand cramping wasn't in vain and I did well. Off to basketball we learned an offense today in prep for practice starting this weekend. After dinner with the team it was homeworking time. I didn't accomplish too much but that's okay, I'm on schedule. Went to a "mini-mester" on how to study the Bible at the campus house tonight. About 25 kids showed up, I found it very interesting and enjoyed it. Hung out and talked to the others and Pete for a bit afterwards then found my way back home. I am so excited to not get up for conditioning tomorrow!

Joe's Tows
So I didn't have class until 12:30 today, this led me to stay up until 2 in the morning and get up at 11:30. This was setting the stage for what I thought would be a pretty laid back day. Got up went to lunch, I wasn't hungry I settled for corn pops. Headed to class it was extremely boring, we were counting down the minutes. After class I spent my free time writing my encouragement cards for Bible study and looking over philosophy. Went to Philosophy review for my midterm for about and hour. It was actually helpful, still it's a lot of info to retain and be able to spit back out. Headed to basketball afterwards. It was very hot in there today we were sweating buckets. Showered and then headed to Justin's for dinner. We had chili it was good, I could actually taste it this time. Watched "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," well kinda I read people magazine. I got ready to leave at about 8:40 so I could go to Encounter...only my car was gone. I had parked in the same spot I had parked many times before, but this time my car disappeared. Turns out it had been towed. Called the place and was on hold for like 5 minutes. Justin drove me across town to pick it up. Only when we got there I realized I didn't have my license and only had a check book to pay with. Then I was informed they don't take checks, pleasant. Luckily Justin had his debit card so he payed and I wrote him a check. The people there were not very kind at all. Got my car back and headed to church. That was probably a good place for me to go, it destresses me. Service was about missions this week it was pretty compeling. There were 2 more baptisms tonight then we all hung out at the campus house. I love it there, people are so nice and encouraging. Now I need sleep another midterm comes tomorrow.

New Church
So I tried out a new church this morning it's called Jacob's Well. I was invited by the Cocco's. Apparently a lot of IWU students go there and they want to help me meet some kids here. Well we both forgot that it being fall break here all those kids were at home. Still I enjoyed the service, it was unlike any I had been to before. Only about 70 people go there it's a very intimate, laid back, and personal. I like that I hate going somewhere where you are just a face in the crowd. Maybe I will start to attend there regularly. The service had a lot of worship (which is my favorite part), a short but powerful sermon (add friendly) and just seemed to be a good place. After service I talked to Pete and the family for a bit then went over to Justin's for breakfast and football. Oh what joy a Bear's choke brings me. By the way the Pack and Jet's won today, just how I like it. We went out to the house for a little wiener roast. It was lovely I thoroughly enjoy all fire cooked food. Came back with Justin and Kaho and we spent forever in Walmart although I'm not 100% what we bought. Went back to the apartment and made homemade guacamole and apple crisp, both very tasty. We watched a movie and I did my homework. So proud of doing it ahead of schedule, maybe this will detract from the weekday stresses!

Friturday
It was too late to write last night. Yesterday started with 4 hours of work, sooo boring. I threw a tennis ball against the wall and read a book "The Giver" it was good. It is technically fallbreak well Friday was at least. After work I ran by the campus house to drop some stuff off to Pete. Talked a little football then headed home. Spent the afternoon chilling with Mom, Kale, and the dog. Went to Rantoul to watch Brent's game. Kale made us listen to every radio station for about 30 seconds each and screeched the words to each song, torture. We actually won the game Brent threw 5 touchdowns. Came back home to bed. Got up this morning and did nothing...and reveled in it. Watch Illinois choke, played with the dog, did laundry. Brent and I came to town and met Justin and Kaho for dinner. We went to Kobe, it's one of those crazy Japanese places where they make the food right in front of you. It was really cool and tasty. Played some Playstation then Brent and I went to see "Express" with Alyssa. It was different than I expected and I really enjoyed it. Went back to Justin's apartment and hung out for a while. Now I am back here chilling out. I'm going to a new church in the morning then taking Kale back home. I really want to watch tv so...

Caffeine=BaD
I could not relax at all last night, sleep did not occur very easily. I thought I could handle a glass of straight green tea at FusionBrew...no no caffeine is still the enemy. Got up this morning a little tired but not too bad, trudged off to Chem to take my test. I don't know how I feel about it. The test wasn't too bad but there was one concept atom to mol ratios that I just could not remember and it showed up like 5 times. This could spell distater but I'm holding out, they questions weren't worth that much. Came back to the room and decided I wanted to add color to my drawing except I didn't have colored pencils. Alas Walmart, I haven't hit up that place near as often as I did at Lincoln, it was refreshing:) I purchased some colored pencils and a frame and spent a the rest of my free time completing my work. It turned out really cool, but it shall never be seen I am giving it away tomorrow. Ate Easy Mac for lunch just wasn't feeling the caf. Headed to Creative writing to do some short story workshop. I'm not gonna lie my 3 classmates whose stories we read today were terrible, but I pretended to like them. Grabbed a parfait with my lunch money (since I didn't eat in the caf) it tasted delicious when I ate it but for some reason kinda made me sick later. Maybe it was bad yogurt. Philsophy was boring but we got out early so that was welcome relief. Putzed around all night really doing nothing until 7:45. We did (and are still doing) 24 hours of Prayer at the campus house. I had a half hour slot at 7:45, I like doing stuff like that really makes you focus and there are no distractions. Small group followed and was awesome as always, everyone was real wound up tonight for some reason. I am still a little jacked but I need a shower and some sleep for a full morning of work tomorrow!

500
Woahhhh, Post 500! That's craziness. So I have had a lot of trouble sleeping this week, I've been a bit jacked on life. Got up this morning for my last bball conditioning. We had fun joking around while running, gotta make it interesting. Went to the Jr. high did me some math, great stuff, haha. Came back and worked for an hour, ok so I actually sat and talked to Kelsey on the phone, but hey I got paid. Met the bball team for lunch, it was this chicken, potato, corn bowely thing. Now I am generally not one for food touching but this was pretty tasty. I am expanding my cafeteria food horizons all over the place this week. Off to education class to turn in my midterm(gasp) and listen to a presentation. I asked a question and for once wasn't yelled at...it was a minor miracle. Chem lab followed, I actually enjoy that. The experiments are interesting and the lab teacher is really nice and helpful. She was even aiding me in studying for my Chem exam tomorrow. After lab I had big plans of nothing, it was so relieving to have some free time. I reveled in it by drawing, hadn't done that in a while, it relaxes the mind real nice like. I drew a picture of Ben Roethlisberger (Steelers QB) and I'm not gonna lie it is awesome. It's a gift but if I liked Big Ben at all I would def keep it. Picked up some dinner then chilled at Justins for awhile. Met Meredith at FusionBrew for a little hangout. She led me the wrong way down a one way street on the way to her appartment, little scary. I brought Kelsey Coker a drink for a midterm break so we stopped by and talked to her and her boyfriend for awhile. Then off to work which consisted of Chem studying. My cowoker angers me she showed up for 30 minutes skipped an hour and a half and still recorded 2 hours.

Midterm Madness
I was tired when I got up this morining, probably because I was so wired last night for some reason. Went to get some chem help from Mr. Troll again. It was uber helpful. What was not appreciated was coming back to chem class only to have an entire chapters worth of learning crammed into a day of which I am supposed to be able to spew back out on a four chapter test Thursday. Not real excited about that one. I slept the afternoon away, being sick just hits me during the day, wipes me out. Got up for lunch before Creative writing. Class was funny today we drew cards with occupations and odd behaviors and had to tell stories about them. It was enjoyable. Philosophy was a drag we went over the same topic repeatedly. I texted, stared out the window, and drew all over. Off to basketball. We scrimmaged it was thrilling. Nah actually I like to play and my team is pretty cool. Went to dinner with the mates, I had this really tasty buffalo chicken sandwich. I wasn't expecting such taste, I am generally wary of cafeteria meats, but this was mmmmmmm. Came back to the room to hammer out a midterm composed of four essays. Talk about sheer joy. I hate formal work, it is soo mundane. I broke it up, did a little unfocused a lot, did a little more. No fear though it is complete. Who knows how it will turn out though my professor isn't really fond of me. Not sure why, ahh the mysteries of life. Now I must be off to bed tomorrow is my last conditioning day!

Good Mood
Wow, I am so glad I joined Encounter at ISU, it just makes me so happy. I just got back. We had a great service tonight it was on remembering. A lady shared her testimony about her young husbands death, it was touching. Stuff like that is encouraging but it draws me back to Scott every time. I don't think I will ever get over missing him...not that I want to. We had another baptism tonight, that's three in 2 days pretty awesome. After service we all hung out at the campus house and talked. I had so much fun, I love having people to talk and laugh with, I'm actually starting to act more like myself. The day was good as well. Woke up to basketball conditioning, it just never gets any easier but we were cracking up the whole time. One of my teammates was saying that our trainer has the bottom half of a horse, she is ridiculously strong. I then took it upon myself to name her a centaur, I find myself clever. Napped a bit before heading to the Jr. High. We reviewed science terms today my girls knew their stuff I am expecting good results. Ate lunch with the team and enjoyed myself. Education class drug on, I got a midterm essay to write for tomorrow. I accomplished my homework pre-practice to ensure that I could go to church tonight, it was a relieving feeling. Practice was just learning practice drills, no sweat. Dinner was eaten with a few teammates and was tasty. Days filled with people make me fill with happiness:)

Fall Retreat!
So I had a really good weekend. Fall retreat was awesome. On Friday night after work I was really debating going. I hate stepping out of my comfort zone. I was toying around with going late or not going at all. I decided I needed to suck it up and just go, I am so glad I did. I arrived right on time to get things started. I was nervous kinda hanging back Pete found me and pushed me right in. I like that he doesn't let me hide. The weekend was so much fun, the weather was beautiful, and for one of the first times since I've moved back to school I was genuinely happy. Friday night we played games, had service, worshipped, campfire service, and then hung out all night. Woke up Saturday for prayer time, breakfast, worship, service, and then a service project. We cleaned up Little Gallilee my job was to scrape spider webs and nests out of the boat house ceiling. The spiders were huge and nasty but we had fun. The afternoon was all free time and I actually made some friends which makes me happy. I played football with the guys and a few girls. They were amazed that I could play, I told them I was good. Then I went out on the paddle boats with my new friend Jodi we waded around and talked. I talked to Kelsey Coker and then Pete for a bit, then I played basketball with the Cocco kids, very cute. We then had a whole group Knock-outa-palooza, good times. Dinner, worship, service, campfire service, and more games followed. I learned to play this cool card mystery game called Mafia. It requires you to be able to lie, I wasn't so good. Then I played 4 on the couch, this I owned at my mind is a steel trap. I had a lot of fun meeting people and just hanging out. This morning we got up for breakfast, then we had baptisms in the freezing pond. Service, and communion followed. The day ended with camp cleanup. I ended up with some riders and all the Cocco's luggage on the way home. It was a great trip. After dropping off my companions and the luggage I went to work to be bored. Went home for my friends babies visitation, very very sad. I stopped through church before I came back, I miss my high schoolers. Now it is late and tommorow comes early.

Rewind
I haven't written all week my evenings have been busy so I will catch myself up right now.
Tuesday started with my Chem quiz, I didn't think it was too bad which scares me. I always do bad when I think I do good. I turned out right though I only missed 3.5 points. After class I had a meeting with Pete at the Campus house and Jo the wife of the other minister. We talked for a good hour working through some stuff. We reached a conclusion that I am both anxious to get started with but also scared to start. We'll see if more details will follow. Still it was nice to get some things off my chest and just talk to them. I made it back for creative writing it was good we moved into short stories. Philosophy was cancelled for the day this did not upset me. Played some basketball, although not very well. I struggled for some reason, I was getting sick. After ball I went home and met Mom and Brent to go to Sam's for a Pampered Chef party. Except Brent and I stayed upstairs and hung out with Clay and Josh. Clay was entertaining as always and Josh even made us dinner. It was a good night.
Wednesday I woke up sick, spitting out blood. My throat was on fire which made 7 am conditioning a delight. I made it through though. A quick nap then off to the Junior high. My 16 year old was absent again, it's so much easier without her. Work was boring, I did some homework. I didn't have education class so I spent the afternoon resting. My body is just worn out it's not that I'm that tired. Went to Chem lab did a copper experiment it was actually very interesting and very colorful. Then I took a concussion test for basketball. That thing was hard, I'm pretty sure it's gonna come back that I am mentally retarded. Seriously rough stuff. I grabbed dinner to go because I wasn't very hungry and needed to get some homework done. At 8 I met Kelsey from my small group at FusionBrew a nice coffee shop down the street. I had some soothing hot peppermint tea, felt good on the throat. I had a really nice time sitting and talking to her, and later Meredith when she joined us before I went to work at 10. I was barely hanging on all through work, I was ready for bed but didn't get back until 12:30.
Thursday woke up early for some reason and stirred in and out of sleep. Chemistry was merely practice problems today. It's hard to practice when you don't get it. Slept for awhile then even though I wasn't hungry went to lunch. I had a bananna and 2 crackers with watered down grape juice. Sickness steals my appetite. I was feeling pretty disconnected all day. We went to the art museum for creative writing, that I enjoyed. Philosophy was same old same old, throw in a pop quiz. Went to basketball but didn't play, my body is worn and when I run the drainage makes me want to puke. I sat and talked to our new assistant Coach, turns out I know him. He coached at Central Catholic and last year at Parkland, small world. Went to Justin's for dinner and to hang out. We had chicken chili I couldn't taste it but I'm sure it was good. The warmth felt good on my throat at least. I felt soo much better after I ate, I actually had some energy and wasn't so dizzy. Came back and hammered out a philosophy paper very proud. Went to the campus house for worship and small groups. I love Thursday nights. I have been trying to pack it's not working. I am leaving tomorrow for the weekend, I'm going on Fall Retreat at Little Galilee with the ISU ministry it should be fun. I am driving my self because I work 7 hours tomorrow and don't get done till 7 so here's to hoping I don't get lost.
Special Prayer request: A friend of mine, Stephany, from highschool had a little girl named Aubree in July. She passed away today from what they think is SIDS. I was very good friends with Steph and her sister Autumn, so just keep them in your prayers.

Achy Legs
7 am kicked my butt this morning. One hour of nonstop running, oh the joys. We ran a mile and a half indian run just as a warm up, it was crazy. Needless to say as of right now my legs are aching and tired. Also I irratated my IT bands (on the outside of the knee) so it's real painful to walk. Layed down for a bit before heading off to the junior high. My 16 year old wasn't there today and guilty as I feel saying it, it was definately a relief. Her needs just dominate my time and take away from the other girls. So the morning went smoother. I randomly saw another one of my 8th grade teachers, Mr. Jett, he was my social studies teacher who works at BJ now. After shadowing had time to grab a quick lunch with the bball team before jetting to class. We didn't do much in there today just discussion. I don't get that teacher he snaps on me everytime I ask a question it's nuts. It's like a whole class joke and everytime I start to talk everyone just starts laughing cause we know he'll freak out, very weird. I didn't have basketball today so after class I went to the library for awhile to do some work. Then I rested before heading to Shirk for the ever popular rehab. Rehab followed by icing ran into solo dinner...boo. I did have this yummy peanut butter quesadilla thing though so that was scrumtrulescent. Chilled out reviewing Chem and watching Jon & Kate until Encouter at 9. Service was short this week which means more sleep for me. Chem quiz number 2 tomorrow, lets go for improvement.

Weekends Over
Had to go home yesterday and change my brakes with Grandpa, they were a lil worn out. No brake pad left on the left, nice. We also changed the oil and washed her up, lovely. Troy called in the afternoon so Brent and I went with the Sondgeroth family on an adventure. We went to the apple and pork festival in Clinton and were not amused, although I did like all the old tractors. We ended up driving all over just messing around. We toured a campsite and ended up in Bloomington where we played suprise dinner, Brent and I closed our eyes for 25 minutes while they drove to the restuarant just for fun. It was scary a few times during the ride we were going in reverse, good thing we couldn't see what was happening, haha. It was Cracker Barrell and it was good, we all ended up at Lys for the rest of the night just hanging out. Stayed at home so I could force Brent to get up and go to Church with me in the morning, a battle I won. We went to service and sunday school always lovely. The afternoon was spent watching football and playing with the dog before I headed back to work. I didn't get the TV spot today so I had to sit downstairs, fear not I read a new Sports Illustrated front to back. Nice Cubs articles. But I did miss a Packers loss and Brett Favre at his best. 6 yes 6 touchdowns, so amazing:) After work I went to Justin's for dinner. We had Tacos, homemade applesauce, and ice cream while watching football and the new Simpsons. It was tasty. Looked at my Chem now it is time for the Brother's & Sisters season premire...so excited!

Chemistry...I almost get it
I successfully navigated my way to U-High this morning for a little Chemistry fun with Mr. Troll. I really don't know why I refer to him as that, I never had him as a teacher and have always just known him as Mike, but who knows. Anyways strange thing was I wasn't sure where his office was so I headed to the office to find out only to bump into Mr. Wilder. Mr. Wilder was my 8th grade science teacher and he was awesome, so it was good to see him. We talked for a few minutes and he lectured me about how I am smart enough to go to IWU and I shouldn't let myself be intimadated. Lovely speech then onto Chem. I actually think I understand stuff better now, makes more sense when it's broken down into things I can comprehend. Hopefully my next test reflects my progress. Came back to work, actually I read Sports Illustrated. It was a really good one about Yankee Stadium, the article was fascinating. Then went to Chem class review with a few other kids, she still makes things all hard to understand even when there are just four of you. The afternoon was piddled away doing homework, looking for basketball shoes, and just chilling. Then back to work this time I did Creative Writing homework and watched Everybody Loves Raymond...and got payed sweet deal. Headed across town to Bren's football game they lost by 40 the second half was mercy rule so it flew. He played a lot better this week, our defense is still terrible. After the game I went to IHOP with Lys and the Sondgeroths. It was enjoyable, I love syrup. They followed me back to my dorm cause my brakes are all but gone. Then Troy thought it was funny to play parking lot stalker and creep on me till I got in the dorm, he's a dork. Now I'm going to bed so I can get up and go to Grandpa's tomorrow to get my brakes fixed, hurray!

Old Friends
I woke up dead tired this morning, I could not get my eyes to open. Finally roused myself out of bed and headed to Chemistry. I was so entirely lost today, I did not comprehend a single thing she was saying. Its just very frustrating especially since I'm already struggling to concentrate in class. Tomorrow morning I am meeting Mr. Troll for help and then have a class review session later in the afternoon, hopefully it helps. Between classes I filled out my field log for education class, watched some TV, and ate lunch...by myself. Went to Creative Writing class. We moved onto short stories today and just spent some time discussing. My philosophy class was cancelled much to my enjoyment. Gave me time to do my shoulder rehab before basketball practice. Basketball was good, everyone is kinda fatigued. We tried on shoes but no one liked the models we had to choose from so Coach is trying to get some new ones. Rushed through a shower then went to Britney, Chelsea, and Sasha's (friends from highschool) apartment for dinner. We had chicken alfredo, breadsticks, and Tanner's Orchard cider, it was good stuff. Spent the evening juts hanging out catching up and watching some TV. I really enjoyed myself, I miss talking to people. Headed to the campus house about 8:30 for worship then we had small groups at 9. This week we spent a lot of time praying for each other which was neat. We studied the story of Noah's Ark, always interesting. We worked through our schedules and picked days to hang out and do stuff, so yeah for me making some friends! Kip had his procedure today and they didn't even find a blockage. I don't know what that means but I'm glad it went okay. Hopefully he can get out soon.

Goodbye Softball
I didn't get in till late after work last night so I didn't write but alot happend so I shall write it this morning and date it last night. Not confusing at all haha. Woke up to some glorious conditioning. Actually it wasn't too bad no 2 mile sprints so that was nice. Ate breakfast then layed down before heading to the Junior high. I got my 16 year old back today so now I have 3 students. Ones autistic, ones incredibly low, and one just mid range. It is a lot to handle. I was trying to help the 16 year old with a pre algebra test when she can't even do simple math...that went over well. Came back just in time for work. I tried to do Chemistry homework, I didn't get much done cause I just don't get it. Actually got lunch then headed to Ed class. We discussed the whole time not much book learning, that's good stuff. Went to lab and got sent to my room to put on pants. Apparently shorts are not proper attire, oops! I quit softball today. Just realized it was time no use doing something I find no joy in anymore when I already have enough going on. I picked up my stuff and headed home. Played with the dog awhile then convinced Mom to go to Sam and Josh's before going to the hospital. Babies make me happy. I had fun playing with Clayton and talking to everyone. I am glad we went to visit. Onto the hospital, those places freak me out, I just don't even like being near one. Luckily Kip wasn't in a room when we got there he was in the lounge. He didn't look bad I just don't like that he is in there. We all just sat around and talked and watched the Cubs game. I was scared to hug him goodbye I know you can I just don't know it bothered me. He just held my hand. We left and grabbed some Taco Bell for dinner then I dropped Mom off at home before heading back to school to work. The time passed quickly Coach Wilson and Kelsey called so I spent most the time talking...still I was tired, way tired.

Sore
Woke up sore and tired today. Partially this is due to basketball the other part I think is I'm gettin sick. Dorm rooms are like breeding grounds for germs. Went to Chem class and vaguely followed like everyday. That class makes me feel so dumb. Came back and passed out for an hour, I am just beat for some reason. Ate lunch by myself, I usually do. I was just thinking today that most of the time I go through entire days here without talking to anyone outside of class discussion, I don't think that is helping me at all. Went to Creative Writing, enjoyed myself learned some stuff. Philosophy came next I only missed 2 on the reading test from last week of which I did not do the reading. Not to shabby. Headed to softball, bored out of my mind. I really think I need to quit, it's just not clicking at all. Plus really it's just not fun anymore and I already have enough going on. Ate dinner at the Dugout with some girls. It was good I had never meal exchanged there before. Came back to the room showered and homeworked. Tomorrow is my crazy day so I gots to go.

Meh Monday
I'm not feeling in a very good mood right now. I don't really know why just kinda been bummed lately. I'm worried about Kip too so thats not helping. I know that they said he's okay, still I just hate not knowing. Running this morning was harsh, 2 miles of fun with some great things thrown in between. It was a haul just trying to get up the steps to my room after. At the junior high today I lost my 16 year old she was dropped from the program. I did find out that my new "dark" girl is not only troubled but autistic and has other problems. All my kids come with labels. Big accomplishment: I finally found my way back from the school today, the right way, cut like 15 minutes off my trip, haha. Education class was nothing spectacular, listened to a presentation. Practice was cancelled tonight, I love it. Rehabed in the afternoon and got some special ultrasound on my shoulder, that felt good. Spent most the evening chilling out watching Jon & Kate and a little football before heading to church. We had a campfire service tonight it was nice. I have this big issue with being intimidated in big groups when I don't have a sidekick, rough. ON my way back to my car I thought I heard a familiar voice. Kaylee was in the parking lot, a pleasant suprise so we stood and talked for awhile. Now bed needs my body.

Oh Sunday
I have had a good day. Went home for church this morning, normal Sunday activity. Service was lovely, I was given an extra bulliten on accident...I made it into an orogami bird during the sermon. There was this crazy cricket on the stage today the kids and I were watching. This thing had skills it could climb up down and sideways very entertaining. I had to help teach highschool Sunday school since their normal teacher was gone, no biggie. Stopped by the house to see Brent and the dog and eat some lunch before I came back. Went to watch the Lincoln girls play softball they were playing here in town. It was great to get to see them and I just sat and talked to the girls between innings and while they were batting. I miss them. Talked to Coach Andrews for a bit he still cracks me up. A suprise was that Kristi was there too. She was in town for the weekend and just happend to go to the game so it was awesome to get to spend some time with her. I only got to watch one game then it was off to work. At work I got the good desk the whole time hello upstairs with a TV. I got paid to watch football and read the Sunday paper, love it. Ate a quick dinner of leftover Monicals then headed to the campus house. We went to Pete's house tonight for a little semester overview and pie. It was nice but I wasn't as comfortable there as I am at small group and service. Probably because I didn't know too many people and it wasn't dark so I couldn't hide. Still it was a good time. You know what I really like about Pete? He makes and effort every time I see him to seek me out and say hello, its nice. Came back to do my education paper and am glad to say I finished a half an hour before the ending time I had set for myself. Now it is time for some restsky cause I love 7 am conditioning.

Grass and Walks
Woke up at 11 today first (and only) sleep in of the week, love it. Didn't really want to get out of bed so I merely changed clothes then watched some good ol TLC it's an awesome channel. Went to lunch expecting at least something good. I settled for a muffin and a peach, filling. As soon as I left the cafeteria it poured, huge, cold, and soaking drops for ten minutes of walking. Jealous?More TV in the afternoon I was a junky today...actually I was just avoiding homework and completely unable to focus. Went to Walgreens (twice actually) to pick up my meds for my arm, nice travels. Started some laundry then went to dinner, it was supposed to be steak n' shrimp night...it was fake Italian beef. I scanned my card scanned the cafeteria and left. So this was random I really wanted to lay in the grass so on the walk back to my dorm I layed in the grass in front of the library for like 30 minutes basically because I could. Mom called and asked if I wanted to go eat at Monicals with them, well of course. I decided I was bored so I would walk, its like 2-3 miles away. Very enjoyable adventuring and we made it there at almost the same time, it was delicious food. Came back and switched my laundry then we ran a few errands. Now I have actually been doing my homework since they left. I have 4 pages of my essay done that I just started and have one paragraph left, now that's working:)

Ridiculous
Stuff went down at Brent's football game tonight that was just ridiculous. I find it extremely pathetic when a grown man can't handle his own ego so he childishly takes it out on a 17 year old. What are you trying to prove? That you're not only not a very good coach, but you're not a very good person either? Why even hire assistants if you are not going to listen to them? Sometimes a game becomes just that, a game. It is no longer a matter of losing or winning but a matter of decency, of setting an example for young boys who are learning, from you, how to become respectable men. Not to be used to destroy the already wavering confidence of teenagers and the game they love. Realize that mistakes will be made on the field and in life, but teach on them grow from them, and never give up on something or someone because of them. What are you trying to say? That if you fall down once, you will never get back up and you will never be given another chance, so you might as well quit now? That will get you far in life. Set aside your overwhelming pride and take responsibility, don't push it onto the plate of a kid whose life is already overflowing with stuff you could never imagine. The whole thing just makes me sick. I would hate to see Brent walk away from a game he is passionate about, that he excells at, and that could get him into college, because he has heard for yet another time in his life that he is not good enough....when all evidence points out that he is.
And now I will get off my soapbox.

Good Evening
So my day was just kinda blah and down, I drifted through tired and unamused. I was very tired when I got up this morning, going to an hour and a half class where a teacher drones on about something I have no interest or knowledge in doesn't do much to perk you up. I am sooo lost in chemistry still I just don't get it nor do I understand why it is relevant to me and my field. I got a C on my test, not what I would consider good, but with the fact that I was fairly certain I failed it is decent. I came back to my room and rested until lunch, it was much needed but not very helpful. Lunch was nacho bar, it was good, I have a certain affinity for Taco Bell and this closely resembled their delightful nachos. Creative writing was my enjoyable break as always, I really enjoy everything about that class. Off to philosophy to be extremely bored but not because I don't understand just because the teacher repeats the same concepts for a week...exciting. Then softball practice. I don't know I am really just not feeling it. The whole time I am there I am counting down the minutes until it is over. It's up in the air. All the afore mentioned shall constitute my day which I did not enjoy all that follows was a much needed pick me up:) After practice I met Beth and Taylor for dinner at Chili's. It was delicious and I much enjoyed myself sitting and talking to them, such nice encouraging people. Had time for a quick shower before I headed to Small Groups. I called and talked to Jay for a little bit, I miss him, it was nice to catch up. I love this campus ministry. This week we studied the "fall" of man, very interesting. I really like my group and find the whole atmosphere very uplifting both spiritually and personally. I found myself looking forward to it all day, it was delightful. So in conclusion booo daytime, yahooo evening!

Nonstop!
This mornings conditioning was harsh. My legs were definately burning but I guess it will pay off in the end, haha. Had enough time before class to shower and eat breakfast then it was off to BJ. I got a new kid today because my 16 year old misses too much. My new girl also came with a warning label, I got the pick of the liter:) They told me she was very dark and troubled, and really just needed someone in her life. She seemed cool to me talked a lot laughed at my jokes, maybe these kids just need a chance. Got back just in time to go to work for an hour. I cleaned exercise equipment and did homework. I had 20 minutes for lunch so I ran and got Tommy's to go. Education class was next we discussed some articles and were genrally bored. Off to Chem lab. Have I mentioned I don't understand Chem? Well I don't Holly and I performed our experiment (twice actually because we don't know what we are doing and messed up) and finished in exactly 2 hours. Sprinted off to softball practice, which is real mundane. We hit we ran it was thrilling. Ice and dinner followed. I stopped by the library on the walk back to my room to get a book to read while at work. I was out of my room from 6:30 this morning until 7:15 tonight with barely enough time for meals boo. But I am extremely proud of myself I got all my homework done by 8:30 tonight which was quite the accomplishment. Well now I must go to work until 12 which is past my bedtime....

Boo Chemistry
Wow these have gotten rather legnthy guess that means I have full days! So I was just randomly wondering if you held water in your mouth long enough would it boil? I don't recall the boiling point of water but body temp is around 98 degrees and that seems hot to me. Just pondering. My Chem test this morning...not good. I feel very certain that I did not do well, there was like a whole page of stuff I had no clue about. Not a good sign and it took me the entire hour and a half to do it and I rushed the last couple of questions. It didn't help that everytime someone was done they would walk down and hand in their paper which greatly distracted me. Lunch was a delightful chicken and rice thing tasty. Creative writing went well, that class is like my mental break. I like writing poetry, shh don't tell anyone. Philosophy came with a suprise quiz over an article I had not read in great detail, still she read off the answers and I only missed one or so. The rest of that class drug on as usual. Practice was a scrimmage game I played 2nd the whole time. I struck out both times up to bat, oops. I really didn't feel to bad about it, no one else hit well either. Then I did my shoulder rehab before heading to Tommy's for dinner. Tommy's is good I love that I can exchange a cafeteria meal for food, sweet deal. I had a grilled sub sandwich with curly fries, yum yum. Got it to go and ate in my room while homeworking. It's not that I have a ton to do it's just that I work a lot tomorrow and won't have a lot of time to get things done. Now it is time for bed, 7 am conditioning was so much fun on Monday I'll do it again tomorrow.

Encounter
I just got back from Encounter which is the college church service I am starting to attend at ISU. It was really good and I liked it a lot. Strangely I wasn't very intimidated by the people around me and just felt kind of at ease the whole time. The sermon was on sin and how it paralyzes us and we let it because it is comfortable. It was related to the parable of the man on the mat that Jesus healed and told to get up and carry his mat. The message was how we generally let the mat (sin) carry us when we should get up and carry it ourselves and be in control of it. It was good then each of us individually were prayed for which was neat. I have already made a friend there her name is Kelsey, she actually leads our small group and is from Taylorville. Yeah small town central Illinois! I talked to Pete for a couple minutes hung out at the campus house for a bit then headed out, but it was a good night. 7 am conditioning, what joy that entailed. It actually wasn't too terrible just a lot of ladder work which I struggle with it is hard to think and go fast at the same time, haha. Still it was just an hour so that wasn't bad. Came back ate breakfast, showered, then looked over some Chem stuff before a quick rest. Then off to the Jr. High my 16 year old was absent today. I asked if she had been tested for LD I was told yes but she was sooo incredibly low that she doesn't qualify to get extra help. That I find to be an incredible injustice and makes no sense. But the time there went fine. Education class was same as always not real thrilling. The afternoon was resting and more Chem before off to softball. We ran the 400 and were done so I went to basketball, lets just say my legs are tired. I got my MRI results today, no visible tears, which is the most important part. Just a buildup of inflammation and scar tissue along with tendonitis of the rotator cuff, but that's easy stuff. Drugs and rehabilitation is what's ahead. Dinner was eaten with the bball girls then I looked at Chem until church. Even after all this looking I still don't feel prepared, some things I just don't get.

Rain, Lunch, Rain, LC Friends, Rain, Sunday
Let's do 2 days in one, try to hold back your excitement. Woke up at 11 on Saturday, love it. I was supposed to have to go to a team lunch for softball. I didn't want to go I wanted to go see my family. Everyone backed out last minute, I was mad but luckily it was soon enough I could go see my family...just a little late. Girls lunch was great. I love hanging out, eating, and just being. Plus we all know I love my babies. I had a lot of fun talking to everyone and playing with the kids. Let's face it, they are just too cute for their own good. After lunch I went and trimmed Grandma's bushes. What she didn't tell me is that they have thorns. Don't worry I found that out myself and it wasn't fun. I trimmed in the rain and cut my hands all up from those dumb thorns. Then I headed back to school. Casie and Nikkie came to see me (and brought their friend Mckenzie). It was a pleasant suprise. I took them to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, because they have never been. I love that place and we had a lot of fun, even befriended the waitress. Then we went to ISU to see one of their friends from home, we all decided that was boring. Everyone stayed the night in my room, it was a party, haha. They left this morning and I went home to church. Shoulda brought a paddle...or at least a life preserver. The roads weren't bad till you got closer to home then they were flooded. These streets had currents and everything, it was crazy. Church was good as always and Sunday school is always entertaining. Stopped by the house to eat some lunch and play with the dog then headed back. The afternoon was football, Pack won! Jets lost:(. laundry, and homework. Went to dinner after the Jets game to find out it closes at 6 on Sunday. Walked around for about 30 minutes cause I can then remembered I still had a Subway gift card (thanks Lys!) and so that was dinner. Well now I need to go study my chem notes and shower. Bed will come early because 7 am conditioning comes earlier.

MRI Fun!
Woke up to the rain, it has poured all September kinda crazy. Went to Sports Enhancement to get my MRI done. I was greeted by lots of familiar faces, we are all on a first name basis...not a good sign. It was soooo uncomfortable to lay in that machine, still, for 1 hour. Not ADD friendly and not fun. I couldn't move at all and the machine made me have to turn my head to the left the whole time. After that fun I went to get X-rays, those were quick and painless, just my kind. Then I went to lunch with the softball team, we are hosting recruits this weekend. I slept for awhile this afternoon, I was tired. Watched some TV then went to Shirk and worked out and did my rehab. Dinner with the recruits was next, more walking in the rain. After dinner I changed and headed out to Oly to watch Brent's football game. It was wet and rainy (shocking!)and the field was a mess. We lost by a lot our running game on both offense and defense is abysmal, our passing game not so bad. Troy, Beth, and Taylor where there again, I didn't think they would come out in the rain, I was suprised. I sat and talked with them the 2nd half. Came back to school after the game and stopped at Walmart on the way. I had gotten my stuff and was in line checked out and getting ready to pay when I realized I didn't have my wallet. I did have a check though so I wrote one...only to find out they can't accept it without my ID which was in, yes, my wallet. The checkout lady was trying to find a way to get around it but to no avail. I had left my wallet in my gym bag, boo. Well tomorrow is IWU's first home football game, rain rain go away!

Making Progress
So I actually had a good day today. I made it to my meeting on time (early actually) without getting lost! It went really well. Pete showed me around the campus house and just gave me some info about the ministry. We sat around and talked life for awhile and connected over the people we both know from MCC. He suggested I join small groups and had already told the leader I was coming. We prayed which was nice and I was out. It was a good start to my morning. Chem was boring lots of notes over lots of concepts I don't get. Our first full exam is on Tuesday, help me, I got lots to do. I was tired after class so in my lone hour of free time I slept. Then I went to lunch lines were ridiculously long I settled for my old standby grilled cheese (2) and tomato soup. It was actually a quite lovely meal for a rainy day:) Then I waded across campus to meet Coach Wagner. I was correct my job is at the desks at Shirk not real demanding, so good. I got a quick run through and sent on my way. Creative writing was interesting as always, we work shopped our poems again. Philosophy followed I don't know what we talked about past like the first 30 minutes. My brain stopped caring and I started drawing. Softball practice was cancelled due to the monsoon, no objections by me...my arm was sore. I went to basketball instead and it was good. I ate dinner with the team and am actually feeling like I am starting to connect with them. They even laughed at my jokes, a big step forward, haha. A quick shower and some phone calls then I went to small group. It went really well I am glad I went. It is an all girls group and I really could see myself fitting in there, so I am very hopeful. That is why I had a good day, I am on the verge of making friends hurray! Now to sleep for my MRI tomorrow, I love laying still for hours!

Dr. Jekyll
So I got up this morning and headed to the Jr. High I got my other student today another girl. But here's the crazy thing...she's 16 and been held back in 8th grade 3 times. After working with her for a few minutes I have no idea how she has not been put in Special Ed classes. Her skills are very low she struggles with basic concepts, it's no wonder she hasn't succeeded I don't think she has gotten the help she needs. I went to the library when I got back to print some things off. It is official I have a job, I just don't know exactly what it is yet. I think I am a desk attendant at Shirk basically I have people sign in when they come in to work out. Education class was ok we discussed our experiences at the Jr. High among other things. Chem lab followed, oh how I love googles and lab aprons, I look awesome. I shake too much for handling chemicals. It was fun though Holly and I are not too experienced so it's an adventure. Sprinted off to practice we did timed running around the bases and then basic practice, joy joy. We ate dinner at Tommy's tonight a restuarant on campus that lets you exchange a cafeteria meal for a dinner there. It's a sweet deal and the food was good. Tonight I did some homework, grudgingly, and talked to Nikkie on the phone, I miss my Lincoln friends. Tomorrow morning I have a meeting with Pete Cocco (the ISU campus minister who used to go to MCC) about getting involved in campus ministries and just getting plugged in. It's at 8:30 that's early for me, haha.

Textbook Torture
I absolutely abhor text book reading, it is pure torture. Meaningless words splayed on a page by intellectuals who are payed to bore and confuse you with huge words Mr. Webster himself couldn't define. I worked on one simple assignment for 3 hours, for the mere fact that I find it impossible to focus long enough to read something so stupid. There were many distractions, the computer, tv, phone, showering, the fact that I hate homework. But no worries all aside I finished it. Got my Chem test back today I got a B not bad for getting my book the night before the test I guess. Chem was all notes today soo fun. Coach Smith found me wandering the sidewalks sent me to the athletics office to meet with Coach Wagner. She found me a work study job, I'm not sure what it is yet, Wagner took down my schedule said he would give me the details later. Hopefully it works out, since it is in the athletic office they know and work around my practice schedule which is nice. Came back to the room and slept I have been real tired this week don't know why I slept from 11-9 last night. Ate some lunch then went to Creative writing it went well as usuall, I like it's structured unstructuredness. Philosophy wasn't too bad today we moved onto a new topic so for now I am not too bored. Softball practice was a scrimmage game I played 1st and 2nd and never got a ball, oh well. Ate some dinner then watch the finale of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," it's cheesy but I still enjoy it. Now I will enjoy bed.

Fire Alarm
I thought I was tucking into a good nights rest last night...I thought wrong. The fire alarm started blaring at 1:30 the building cleared. We stood on the street in the freezing cold as the fire trucks and campus security pulled up. About 100 college students shivering in shorts and t-shirts, fun fun. We were out for about 30 mins then came back in to sleep the night away, or sleep for about 4 more hours. The fire alarm went off again at 5:00 this morning. Once again we filed out into the cold. Needless to say I have been tired today. When class time finally rolled around I headed to the Jr. High I was paired with an 8th grade girl with pink hair, nice. She was very cooperative and we worked on science. Ryan Hopp is at the school the same time as me so we sat and talked some football as we waited, good times. Went to the trainers for a quick meeting then headed to lunch, I ate grilled cheese imagine that. Education class was alright not as boring as usuall. I came back to the room and did homework before I headed back to the trainer. I was give na personalized workout/rehab plan, hurray stupid arm. Went to basketball, I was tired already and we had zero subs doesn't add up to success. I did my rehab after practice then was supposed to go to a softball cookout, except I was already late and then never found the house. By that time the caf was closed so after I gave up my scavenging I scraped 3.82 in change and bought a sandwich. The night entailed more homework while watching Jon & Kate +8 and the Packers game. Which I am sorry but just isn't as exciting without Brett.

Different Green...Same Favre
I stayed at the Sondgeroths last night, camped out in the RV right in the front yard, haha that thing is nice. I was at their house for a cookout/birthday party for their little girl. It was fun, Brent came too we cooked random things on the fire for entertainment. Grapes good, watermelon not so good. Well since I was pretty much all the way home they had me stay so I didn't have to drive back home in the morning for church, nice people. Ahh Sunday mornings, the sermon was actually pretty interesting. Talked to Toby for a little bit he cracks me up. Lys told him and Mel that I have to wear a lab coat and googles for Chem lab. They thought that was funny and kept making fun of me, bulleys. Watched Brett Favre's Jets debut today, ohh how I love thee Mr. Favre. He was spectacular and I loved that there was no time conflict that made me choose between Brett and the Pack. No worries though tomorrow I will be all Go Pack Go...even if the QB is Aaron Rodgers. Put off doing homework all afternoon, I hate meaningless academic reading. Then I went and helped at youth, Kel and James were home so that was nice. James and I got to create the game for tonight it was fun. I really enjoy being a high school sponsor, those kids are pretty cool. Came back here, dropped some stuff off at Justin's and still neglected to read. Now I must sleep I go to the Jr. High in the morning again.

Football Friday
Ahh about how I didn't have to get up for anything this morning. I rose at about 10 at my own accord, glorious. Fiddled around in my room then went and met Amy for lunch, chili cheese nachos and grilled cheese. I decided since I didn't have practice or anything today I could eat whatever I wanted. Then I went to Shirk and worked out for a bit. I lifted, did abs, biked, and shot some baskets. That was the extent of my day, with a little reading thrown in here and there. Then I went and picked up Justin and brought him home to Brent's football game. Before the game I went to Grandma and Grandpa's so that I could get some air in my tires cause they were looking a lil flatsky. I ran home and did my laundry cause hey if I'm there I might as well do it for free. The game was alright, they lost again. The defense is terrible. Brent threw for 3 td's and 2 int's. At least the int's weren't blatantly terrible. I tried to video tape the game to send to Kale, we will have to wait and see if it works. Battery died in the 3rd quarter anyways. Troy, Beth, and Taylor were there so I sat and talked to them the whole second half. I am supposed to go to a cookout at their house tomorrow. After the game I waited around for Juffy then we headed back. It was very foggy, couldn't see far past the hood of the car. Makes me nervous, but we made it.

Stressing
So I have really been stressing about money the last couple of days. This place is SO expensive and on top of that you still have a ton of stuff to buy. I don't think I will have enough money to get through the year and that really kills me. It seems like most people here don't have that struggle. I need a job and there are some thru the workstudy program, but here they have set hours I am busy 9-7 everyday and then have to fit in homework, workouts, and adequate sleep. Doesn't leave much time for work. I just hate not being able to fend for myself. Enough of my ranting onto life. I got an email from Rod Dale (my highschool JV softball coach) this morning. It was sweet and got my morning off to a good start. My Chem quiz wasn't too bad, I am sure I flubbed up here and there but no where what I was expecting. That felt good. I was still stressing this morning so I came back to the room and spent some time simply trying to relax I felt better after that. Lunch was chicken nuggets, I don't like chicken nuggets, but I was in a hurry and ate them anyways. Creative Writing went well we did peer anaylsis of a couple kids poems and had discussion. I am still really enjoying that class. Philosophy, well Philosophy sucks, it is soooo insanely boring I swear we discuss the same thing everyday. I stare out the window or draw all over my papers. Another thing I have really been struggling with, I cannot focus to save my life. I find myself wandering off in class and even though I know I can't get away with that here I can't help it, frustrating. Sprinted to practice, softball was doing testing which I already did for basketball so I got to escape. I went to basketball practice instead which I enjoyed and was much needed. Dinner was ate with the team and then I swam back to my room, I have been soaked all day, not comfortable. Tonight I have really done nothing and loved it. I cleaned out my email I had like 600 messages to delete and now I think I will go watch "Friends" for hours...I don't have class tomorrow!

Waking Up
I woke up early again today I don't know why I keep doing that. I am exhausted when I go to sleep yet still wake up 3-4 times a night, annoying. Got up and headed to the Junior High this morning. It was early I didn't want to run into traffic or get distracted get lost and be late so I left early. Turns out way early I got there about a half hour before I needed to be and ended up sitting forever in the lobby. It was just an overview day nothing exciting. Came back and relaxed for a few minutes before spending the afternoon on the run. Lunch was eaten in 10 minutes then I ran off to education class, it was boring. Then I sprinted to Chemistry Lab, it was safety overview day and we had to check the supplies. My lab partner is a freshman who just happens to be from Oly, weird. Practice quickly followed. I did fine again, and was not so nervous today. I don't know why I was yesterday, it's just hard adjusting to new programs when I had just adapted to the last. It didn't rain the whole time which was nice. Sondgeroths were in town with Lys and Ryker eating dinner for Ryk's birthday. They called and stopped by to see my room and talk for awhile. I bet whoever lives below enjoyed two 6 year olds pounding all over the floor, ha. I finally got my Chem book tonight...my test is tomorrow morning, this is not looking promising. The rest of the night was spent homeworking and now I must go attempt to study.

Shoulder Sucks
I actually woke up before I needed to get up this morning, crazzzy, I hate mornings. Threw on some clothes and headed to a little chem class. I am SO lost in there I have no idea what is going on and I stil haven't gotten my book. I tried some practice quizzes I found online tonight...failure. After class I had to see Dr. Dustman, Brad was there too, we are good friends ha. Well after some poking and prodding and lots of grinding and popping on my part it was decided that I have to have a shoulder scan again. Hurray for x-rays and MRI's. Right now it is kinda up in the air with what happens but potential surgery was mentioned. This sucks. Lunch was delicious sweet and sour pork on rice, yummy. Creative writing was interesting as usual, I like the way my name sounds with a Boston accent, haha. Sprinted over to Philosophy. I swear we wrote the same thing over and over again for like 3 pages, I was bored. Sprinted to practice...only this time it was softball. It was alright I hit well and fielded decent. I was nervous for some reason, probably because I have no idea what's going on. I can't really decide if I want to play it just might be too much. Met Mom for dinner at Noodles, yeah mac and cheese, then came back and lifted. I was out of my room from 9:15 till 8:00 long day. Tonight was spent practicing chem as mentioned to no avail but tomorrow is another full day.

Weekend Away
I just rocked my cranium. I was laying on the bottom bunk watching Jon & Kate +8 and I sat up without remembering where I was. My head hurts. I went home yesterday morning to go to church. I like going home to church, all my favorite people are there. I spent the afternoon at Lys playing with Ryker and just hanging out. We played Lego's and Kazoos all afternoon my favorites. We had a little cookout last night for labor day/birthdays/Kale being home. I stayed at Lys then came home in the morning because Kale's flight was cancelled so he was still home. We did some stuff outside then sat around and watched movies because the remote doesn't work and we are lazy. I went back into Lys in the afternoon for Ryker's birthday dinner. It was the family and me, ha, but that's how it always is if Ryan or Lauren aren't around. I played with te kids and talked to everyone. It was fun and his cake was sweet, Lys made a Cleveland Browns football field. I stopped thru home before I headed back and grabbed some dinner. I talked to Lauren on the way back to school I miss her. The night back at school was spent on homework, first at the library then here in the room. Well I still need to shower so once Jon & Kate is over it's raining water.

Labor Day
Hello Labor Day weekend. I was going to get up and go to Ryker's soccer game this morning...but I didn't. I was waiting on the mail. I ordered my Chem book online and was really hoping it would be here. I have a test Thursday, but still no hope. I headed home around noon and spent the afternoon hanging out with Bren and Kale and playing with the dog. I miss my dog, and the boys too I guess. We went to Monicals for dinner it was delicious I haven't eaten there in a long while. Spent some time cruising the mall, actually I was looking for green shorts. I have to have them for softball practice. I was hoping to find some cheap so I didn't have to buy the bookstore ones. I think Mom may have found one pair for me. Then I went to Justin's apartment to watch the U of I football game, with him, Kaho, and Kale. A couple kids from highschool and some of their friends from college came over too. It was a fun way to pass the evening even though U of I lost. The passing game was entertaining though, I love football. I just got back in and took a quick shower. Now it's off to bed so I can get up for church in the morning.

Its Football Season!!
It's 12:30 and I still need to shower, nice. Got up this morning and went to the trainer for my first year orthopedic screening. We had to go over my medical history forms and I had to do a few tests. I got red flagged because she didn't like what she saw and have to meet with Dr. Dustman from Sports Enhancement on Tuesday. Dumb arm messes me all up, but I haven't been seen for it in a long time maybe its a good thing. Also they are going to work together to establish a personal work out program for me to help stregnthen my weak arm and foot, that should be nice. I didn't end up going to Lincoln this morning I found out after 2 weeks of calling Lincoln that I could just run across town to the Normal campus and pick up my transcripts. Yeah for saving gas. My Coaches wanted to see me though so I made a promise to go visit soon, I miss them. This afternoon I also completed my health files and academic files with some simple paper work, I am almost on track. This afternoon I explored the library all 4 stories of it, it's pretty cool. I checked out some books and already read one this afternoon. I did some homework today to, I am really waiting on my Chem book to get in I ordered it online and need it. Ate dinner with the basketball team then met Denise to go watch Brents football game. I love football season. They lost 48-28 but Brent threw 2 touchdowns. We ate McDonalds then headed back here. Right now I am trying to decide if I want to get up in the morning to watch Ryker's soccer game. Decisions, decisions.

Jam Packed
I woke up to a bright red right eye. I thought I had pinkeye it stayed that way most of the day. Till I found some magical drops and now it is just barely pink, hurray!! I was tired when I got up but lumbered off to Chemistry. More droning on and on about things I have never heard, but it's interesting. Came back to the room and slept until lunch I have been worn out this week. Creative writing came next we read some poetry then had 10 minutes to write a poem of our own using specific words on the board. I like that class for right now at least. Sprinted off to Philosophy and made it just in time, more and more notes. As I am typing right now I realize my hand is still sore from pages upon pages of writing. Went straight from class to basketball. It was soooo hot on the courts today. I was soaked so was everyone, but it was alright. A softball meeting came next. I was freezing in my own sweat because of the AC gross I know. More papers were signed then it was off to dinner...except I missed dinner. I ran to Kroger's and grabbed some Bagel Bites, tasty. The night has been filled with homework and I must go work some more. I don't have class tomorrow but I have millions of meetings and have to go to Lincoln to pick up transcripts.

Wanderings
It's one week in and I am already feeling overwhelmed. I don't feel like I fit in here at all. I am not as smart as these kids or into the same things they are. I don't think I am good enough to play on the sports teams. I just feel out of place and awkward pretty much all the time. I hope it gets better and soon. I woke up this morning and finished off one of my reading assignments before heading to class. Class was alright we got lectured on how to go about this whole jr. high tutoring thing for Education class. Then I went and bought the rest of my books yeah for 300 dollar books...not. This afternoon was spent doing homework, more readings, and writing a paper. Gabby called me so I talked to her for awhile I miss Lincoln where everyone took care of me all the time. Growing up sucks, ha. Ate dinner with the team then headed to a team meeting. We went over our schedule and signed all our release papers. Then we met with the trainers and went through some speed testing stuff among other things. I found out I have a 19 inch vertical. Is that good?? Then we went through our weight program and did some testing in there. They were running through all these terms and weights and I have no idea what they were talking about. I get that feeling a lot like there are many things I am assumed to know yet I have no idea what's going on. I don't feel real comfortable asking the other students I don't want them to think I'm dumb so for now I will stay lost.

New Classes
Hurray for not getting lost today...AT ALL!! Needless to say I was an uber dork and carried my campus map around with me all day, haha. No wonder I have no friends. Started off with some Chemistry and seeing as I have never ever taken a Chem class this could be crazy. We dove right in to some good old fashioned note taking. Then I met Amy for lunch how I love me a spinach salad. Creative writing was next our classroom is actually in an old house turned English building. My class meets in this tiny room in the basement with two big wooden tables and wooden chairs that creak everytime you move...mine never stopped creaking. I actually think I may enjoy this class, the teacher seemed cool she's originally from Boston and has a sweet accent. I then sprinted (or drove my car) across campus to get to my Philosophy class which started in 10 minutes. I made it just in time good thing I didn't walk. Basketball scrimmaging followed closely my feet were and are killing me the skin where the blisters were cracked and bled, painful. I ate dinner with the team it was an amalgam of foods consumed. I ventured to the Library on the way home to print off some readings for class, I already have to read like 4 chapters of crap, I hate school and it's dumb assignments. The night has been spent reading and buying text books online. Hurray money saving!

Lost and Late
I took Nyquil last night and apparently passed out until 11:30 this morning. I wasn't hungry but knew I needed to eat before class. I settled for some breakfast food I had in my room, Cheerios, raisins, yogurt, and cold medicine, ha. Then I headed to class, I apparently was pairing my room for Chemistry with my Education time slot. Needless to say I got lost but I was also late to class, what a great first impression. Ed class was way boring this little short guy stood and talked for 1 1/2 hours nonstop. I don't know what he was saying. I had to schedule "lab" hours which means I go to the local middle school and observe students 2 hours a week. I came back to my room and fell asleep again dang sickness. We started basketball scrimmaging today it went well. I was more out of shape than I thought and this cold isn't helping. I had to go to the trainer during our last match though I got blisters all over the bottom of my feet which busted and bled, lovely. I got to soak my feet in this iodine stuff which felt awesome, now they hurt a bit. Next I ventured over to the library to print off many a forms. The night was spent filling out these forms I had over 20 pages of medical history things to fill out asking questions about everything you could ever want to know. Then I filled out work study apps, whoo hooo. Well I have class at 9:30 tomorrow and I need some more restsky!

Back to Church
I went home for church this morning. I was debating going when I got up, now I am glad I did. I needed to be around people who actually talk to me and make me happy. The service was decent Norv preached a good 7 hours. Troy was sitting behind me being distracting and I was sitting with Lys playing with Lucy. That is why sermons should only be like 30 minutes, ha. then I talked to Toby for a little bit, he is too entertaining for his own wellbeing. The man is just not right. I ended up going to Highschool Sunday school our college class is done now and I don't feel comfortble in the 30 something married with kids class even though I talk to all of them. This turned out good as well those kids are awesome and always make me laugh. Went to Grandma and Grandpa's for the afternoon. I detailed the inside of my car I was carting around one to many insect carcasses, but now it is sparkly clean. I even got to read the Sunday paper I love the Sunday paper. Next I went to Lys for awhile to hang out and watch water polo, I have been an Olympics junkie too bad it's over. I stopped thru youth group before I came back to school. I was sent back with the makings for s'mores (using marshmellow fluff delicious), breakfast bars, and all the plastic utensils I need. I love shopping at MCC:) I came back here for a mandatory drug meeting it was uber boring I had to leave once for a coughing attack... dang tuberculosis. I coughed through the whole thing I think people think I'm diseased. Then I had a floor meeting again boring. Laundry followed which I am still doing and I got my books all ready for class tomorrow, I don't know if I am ready for challenging.

Tuberculosis
So I once again rose nice and late, gloriousity. I headed to the Caf to meet Amy for lunch. Coach Smith found me on the way and I ended up eating with her and a recruit. The recruit didn't say much but it was nice to sit down and talk to Coach for awhile. The afternoon was spent running errands around town and picking up things I forgot. This consumed most of the afternoon it's nice living in bloomington for that reason... I can just run across town. When I got back I met Amy for dinner and actually ate with her this time, I discovered the grilled cheese, a staple in my college diet. I ended up going over to Amy's room for a little while talking with her and her roomate. I think I have tuberculosis I told this to Kale and he didn't know what it was, I find it highly entertaining. Me-"Tuberculosis is a lung diease you know they put people in that iron lung thing.... one time they did it to Daffy Duck on Looney Toons" Kale- "And then shot him in the face and his beak flipped around not where I go to gain knowledge." Haha, but really I am sick already, suckfest. Then I went to a house party thing with my basketball team, it was way awkward. I find large groups of people I don't know greatly intimadating, I just kinda chilled by myself. Whatever at least I went. I peaced out earliesh cause I don't feel too swell and that's it. Oh and Happy Birthday Justin!

Trust in Me
Started off the day today at 12 and it was beautiful. I took a stroll to the caf and ate with Amy the food leaves a lot to be desired I settled for spinach and carrots a banana and grape juice. I'm sure I'll adjust at least I hope so. Then I ventured to the book store to buy, well...books. I bought 5 for one class cost me 150 bucks. I need 2 more one is 170 on it's own the other is like 50 this is ridiculous, like students aren't poor enough. Came back and chilled in my room for a bit before my basketball meeting. I got to meet all the team they seemed cool, we got our lockers and laundry bags and I talked to Coach for a few minutes. We had a potato bar for dinner tonight, I could really use some meat in my diet. I ate with Ryan and a few of the orientation leaders then they all decided we would take all the transfers to an ice cream place downtown via the Constitution Trail. I enjoyed the walk but passed on ice cream. We went to a hypnotist show tonight it was suprisingly entertaining and packed. Who knew you could make people do that kinda stuff? It just reminds me of the Jungle Book with Kaa the Snakes crazy eyes and his trust in me, ha! Well that consumed the day and I am still not tired but I could use a bit of water washing.

Improvement
Today has been a bit better. I got a call this morning saying the girl that was gonna move in is living somewhere else...sweet relief. I went to a workstudy meeting this morning hoping to get some info it was a waste of time and sleep. I came back and passed out I have a cold and haven't been sleeping well it was much needed. I went to register at 12 and ran into lots of speed bumps. I had to go to the registrars office they were very helpful and got me into all my classes without hitch. This is funny I took a Spanish placement exam yesterday after not having foreign language since Junior year. Well I guessed my way through the whole thing had no idea what I was doing and somehow tested out of having to take foreign language class. That was very exciting for me. I am enrolled in Chemistry Lab, Philosophy of Religion, Foundations of Education, and Creative Writing (you can only take 4 classes). I met a kid this afternoon who is also an el. ed. major, his name is Ryan and he's a football player. We hung out for awhile helping each other with class selection and just talking maybe I have made my first friend ha. This afternoon I went to the mall and met Lys, Ryker, and Taylor because they were in town. We had cherry icees and just chilled for a bit. I actually had some activities tonight the transfers had a pizza gathering thingy to meet each other, it wasn't bad. Then we went to this weird play/information thing that I didn't really enjoy. One of our group leaders named Becky is pretty cool though she's a senior and used to play basketball. I also met a potential softball teamate, Amy. I went to Shirk tonight with Amy to workout for something to do. I shot and rode this sweet virtual bike thing. Then I met up with Becky and we played pickup games with a bunch of guys for another hour, it was fun. I have blisters on my feet though. I have nothing tomorrow till 5 so who knows when bed will call. But for now...

Transfer Agnst
Wow I didn't realize it's been so long things will start to fall back to regular now that I am at school (although it's not any less crazy here). These first 2 days have been worse than expected. Transfer orientation is completely unorganized and very frustrating. We have little to do but the things we do have are not explained or clear and when you ask questions no one seems to know the answers. There are only 30 of us and we are pushed aside. Nothing has went well, all my paperwork is messed up and there are many things left undone. I moved in on Tuesday without a roomate I unpacked and spent my free time tucking everything away. I even got my walls all decorated then I got an email today saying someone is moving in. I do not like this at all I hate having someone in my room, especially when I don't know them. I like operating on my own schedule doing what I want to do without imposing on someone else or having them impose on me. This is not going to work out I am exploring alternate living situations. But this situation is not just me complaining all the transfers feel lost no one really knows what's going on and we've tried to get help. So far I have talked to 3 people and that was for a total of like 5 minutes, hopefully when all the athletes move in I'll make some friends but for now I will continue to bask in my confusing frustrations and hope it gets better.

I'm at IWU
I am officially all moved in...3rd floor no elevator, it was an adventure. Thank goodness for Troy, he came and helped me and Mom move in. He did all the hard labor, like carrying the fridge up 3 flights of stairs. He wins the prize. For those of you wondering Troy is a guy from church, I spent a lot of time with he and his wife Beth and their daughter Taylor this summer. They are really cool and have lots of toys I can play on like a go-cart and mini 4-wheeler. They just like to help out so Troy decided he would move me in, it was greatly appreciated. I actually lost my room key in the move in process, I have no idea where it is. I felt real dumb calling the office and telling them I lost my key, I could hear them making fun of me in the background. Good start eh? We went to a couple meetings this afternoon but they were sooo boring we opted out of the rest. Mom and I went grocery shopping for a little foodsky then went to Jimmy Johns. I love the Jimmy I had a Veggie it is the best. Mom left around 8 and I have spent the rest of the night unpacking things and putting them away, I even got some posters up already, I hate blank space. Well I must be off the Olympics are calling me.

Long Time Coming
I have hardly written in this at all this summer lame I know but life here has been crazy. When I last wrote I was getting ready to leave for Tennessee with our highschoolers well it was awesome. Our kids were great the weather was great the scenery was great. Myself along with my friends Lauren and Ryan went as college age sponors the week made a big impact on us. It was so strange to look at these kids that we were the same age as a few years ago and see them struggling with the same things we did but now looking back on it and realizing it wasn't that bad and their is hope. Our hearts broke for them as we watched them cry and breakdown and really just hit the bottom with struggles surrounding anything you could imagine. We found ourselves overwhelmed just wanting to love them and take away their issues and make their lives alright, it was a moving position. It helped the 3 of us to too rexamine our lives as well and throw out the stuff that was holding us back and really reconnect with each other. That has been my support for the summer almost all of my nights are spent with Ryan and Lauren and sometimes the kids when they just need something to do and honestly I love it. It's a good feeling to be with friends who love you for who you are and really expect nothing from you and it's nice to feel needed by the kids and to see that we can make a difference even at 20. Other than that I spend my time babysitting (which I am done with now), playing slow pitch (which is ridiculosly fun but almost over), playing Wii (I am getting better at guitar hero), excercising (a little run or bike ride everyday), chilling with Mom and Bren, or visiting family (which I need to do more often). Obviously life has changed here and while the road has been bumpy and there are really bad days all in all I think we are doing okay and even with everything this has still been a good summer. God has a plan and even when we don't understand it it still guides us in the right direction.

You're the only 10-I-See:)
Ahh only a 3 day space, I'm gettting better:) Well for today considering I leave tomorrow morning for Tennessee. I'm going as a youth sponsor for CIY agian we are heading to Milligan college Ryan's coming so it should be lots of fun. We have to hurry back Saturday so I can go to Kristi's wedding which I am stoked about, so yeah I have a lot going down. The rest of this week flew by. Thursday I went and played slowpitch with church again. I must have had 20 balls hit to me at short, but no fear I caught them all. We are terrible but it is too funny to even care about, I am too busy laughing to notice that we are losing. And of course the ice cream after every game is just an added bonus, it's just a good way to spend a summer night. Friday night after umping yet another marathon game I went to Justin's apartment for a going away cookout for Kale and his friends. I had a lot of fun sitting around talking to the kids from highschool. Too bad I was the only one under 21 left when they decided to go to the bar, but oh well it was good while it lasted. This morning I got up and met Lys and Kel to go pick up rental cars for the trip, there was also a little trip to Starbucks thrown in there. They have delightful chocolate chip banana bread. I felt totally like a soccer mom rolling in my mini van especially with Ryker bouncing around in the back seat. The afternoon was spent packing and doing laundry. I went to Lincoln this evening to an anniversary party for the elder Finchum's, twas a lovely time. Rounded off the night with a last minute pick-ups stop to Walmart. Now I must go get rested up it is a draining week ahead!

California and some Catch-up
I told you these summer blogs would be sporadic. I mean to write more I really do the internet just doesn't like to participate the service here is more than a bit spotty. So much has happened in the span of a week or two it would be impossible to catch up on everything so I will write what I can remember...bear with me. I spent some time in Lincoln with Chels, Nik, Alex, Craig, and Kyle one Friday night it was a lot of fun minus the tornadoes, not a big fan. We ate out, had game night and just hung. Went and watched the softball state tournament we got second but I enjoyed watching. Last week I can't really remember much about I was too focusing on getting ready to go to San Diego.
Califorina
We flew out on Wednesday morning, I know Mom didn't get us to the airport at 3:30 for a 6:00 am flight she was more than a little jacked about going. The flights weren't to bad and I am not a fan of air travel. The only rough spot was the legnth and the fact that I was pinned between Justin and Brent. The first day there was spent resting up and settling in. At night we played mini golf at the course outside our hotel.
Here I decided to pose on the lovely bridge mid putt-putt. The next morning we got up ate breakfast in the hotel and headed to the Marine base. The base itself looks more like a resort than military station. It was yellow and had palm trees growing everywhere the weather was nice and warm. Every one was getting excited for the moto run when we could first see Kale. It was really neat the coolest part was when the Marines turned and faced the crowd all at the same time. They stare straight ahead and can't look around which worked out well for us we were standing right where kale was staring. Check him out in his short shorts:)
After the run they went and showered and changed into different uniforms. They marched around a bit then we finally got to go talk to him. We spent the day on the the base with him, just checking it out. We went to a war museum which I found intriguing and hung out all afternoon. That night we went back to the hotel and he stayed on base. We were woke up at 5:00 in the morning to water leaking through our ceiling. I didn't want to get out of bed it was too early. The man above us had fallen asleep with the bathtub on and was flooding his room and consequently ours. We had to pack up and move out. We headed back to the base shortly thereafter for gradution. We watched a film about Marines and listened to some Officers talk before we headed outside. For this time they wore there dress blues very fancy. The ceremony was very nice and very hot. What a lovely family photo haha.
That day after lunch and a little lounging we headed to Coronado beach. It was beautiful and we all had a lot of fun, I even dug up some shells (which I forgot in the pocket of my board shorts, ohh do they smell.
We spent the night in our new free suite and after an early breakfast at Dennys (Kale's request) it was time to get back on the planes. The flights once again weren't bad just long and we returned to Bloomington late Saturday night where the family was waiting to greet Kale. All in all it was a great trip.
Sunday Brent got baptized the boys almost didn't make it but that is a story for another time. We ate dinner at Monicals after B's game twas tasty. I spent the rest of the night hanging out with Matt and Ryan which was awesome. Monday I babysat I was supposed to ump but was rained out. Yesterday I babysat and umped. I missed our slowpitch game and Kelsey's birthday dinner because of it boo. I went to Chris' house afterwards for a little fire pit hang out, which was a lot of fun. Today I watched Ryker we came out here and played Wii with Kale and in the hot tub, very entertaining. I umped again tonight I didn't want to Coach Thomas was out at Oly and called for me to come see him. I haven't talked to him since I left school and miss him lots, so that sucked. I did talk to him on the phone for a while though so I guess it's okay. I talked to Jer tonight too I wish people I liked didn't live so far away or at least that gas wasn't ridiculosly priced. But hey what can you do?
