Blood

So definitely the most interesting part of my day came from the ever anticipated doctors visit. So I roll in early and I swear I sit in the waiting room forever. I am tired so I am just taking a little napsky in my chair. Then I get called in and do the usual with the nurse, throw out all my symptoms and wait. Then the doctor comes in and checks everything out and decides that I have the flu but it is too late to test for it. She also decides she wants to test for mono. If it's just the flu she said it should be out of my system in a few days since I have had it since Saturday. Anyways back to the mono test, I'm thinking no big deal, a throat swab and I'm out. But NO they gotta bring out the big guns, I detest needles. The nurse gets to work and I ask if we can take the blood out of my hand cause I hate things in my inner elbows. She's flicking all over both hands but can't find a vein. Finally I cave cause I am tired and wanting out of there so I tell her she can use my elbow. FIRST TIME EVER, this is a BIG deal. Anyways I tell her to be quick and I just turn my head and clench my fist. I am having to tell myself over and over to not hit her, I hate it that much. It wasn't even the needle it was the dumb swabbing of the cotton, that just creeped me out. But she pulls 2 vials and gets it done and all the sudden I'm incredibly dizzy. I black out I can't see anything, I'm sweating profusely, and my skin is ice cold. The nurse goes and gets the doctor and they lay me up on the table and put wet clothes on my face. I had to lay there for 10 minutes before I returned to normal, good times. Apparently I don't react well to having blood drawn. I drove back to school then and went to work. I half slept and got paid. Then I napped till class at 2:35. My classmates like to make all kinds of swine jokes, pleasant. I decided after class I was gonna drop by practice to see my teammates cause I miss them and they have been texting me all week, only practice was cancelled. I returned to my room and slept. Got up talked to Kale for a bit then went to Justin's for dinner and NBC Thursday TV. I went to Bible Study tonight because I miss people, I am a room prisoner, I miss real life. It was good then I came back here and laughed while talking to Ryan for awhile, cause he's awesome. Now rest calls.

Nothing

Nothing real exciting to report from here on the homefront. Except for ya I'm still at home. Got me a lil Dr.'s appointment in the morning. I hate the Dr. I'm hoping he will discover I have a magical illness that will simply evaporate within 3 minutes of seeing him. In reality I will probably have a mono test run. Today I have done a lot of nothing. I slept until 11. I got up fed the cat, played with the dog, and watched SVU. I wrote my intent to student teach. After I was up for a total of 3 hours I got insanely tired. I dragged myself upstairs and passed out. I woke up in time to go to church. I wasn't going to go but we thought that 2 of our teachers weren't going to make it because they had to take their daughter to the ER for x-rays. I was going to have to teach, luckily they made it. I spent the rest of the time at church doing sitting jobs like attendance and other things. I came home I watched new SVU, never disappointing. Now I shall sleep some more.

Quarantine

I didn't go to basketball this morning per the doctors orders. Extra sleep was much appreciated. I rolled into science class right on time. I wasn't going to go but we had 2 classes cancelled last week and I didn't want to fall behind. I was quarantined, no one would sit by me and my teacher was being all "Mom like." It was all quite amusing. She made me drink a whole bottle of juice before I left and told me to go and sleep until my next class. I did sleep until I had to go to stupid work, cut right into my rest. It was only an hour shift though and I made it through. After work I was hungry but had no soup so I called Stacey and headed over to my teammates house. They let me in the door and made me stand in the kitchen and not touch anything. Stacey fixed the soup gave it to me and they sent me out the door. I drank it up then slept again until math class. My science teacher had told my math teacher I was sick, she was being all motherly too. I wasn't allowed to touch the manipulative's or calculators, but kids did sit by me this time. I really don't think it's that bad people are just overly cautious apparently. I went home after class for 2 reasons. One I had a visitation for a family friend I needed to attend and two I can't go to kindergarten tomorrow because I am sick. So instead I spent my evening doing nothing and chilling with Bren. We watched "Bed Time Stories," and I loved it. Tomorrow I need to write my intent to student teach essay, tonight I need to sleep.

Sicky

I slept for 12 1/2 hours last night. Yeah crazy. I knew I was tired I just didn't know I was that tired. I rolled out of bed for class at 11 and was still not feeling well. My friend convinced me to call for a nurses appointment during class so I could be sure to get in today. I made it through class then headed to the cafeteria not hungry but knowing I had to eat something. I settled for some mac and cheese and orange juice. I laid down until my nurses appointment at 1:20. I tested negative for strep which I was quite certain I didn't have. She didn't come to any real conclusions just said that I wasn't to go to basketball for at least 24 hours and to consider myself contagious. I have all the signs and symptoms for H1N1 so she said that if I am not any better in 48 hours I need to go to urgent care. Here's to hoping I feel better. I went to Old Man Rivers class because here missing one class can get you really behind. I drifted through then came back and slept for 2 hours since I couldn't go to basketball. I decided on some vegetable chili and a banana for dinner, soft things are easy on the throat. Now I shall watch a little Big Bang Theory.

Weekend Madness

My entire weekend has been busy, fun, and ultimately exhausting. Friday I sat in a dentists chair for 2 hours. Now that was enjoyable. Actually 2 Novocain shots later, I wasn't feeling too bad just all kinds of numb. As an end result I got a new molar, nice. Then it was off to football, the game wasn't as one sided as I was expecting it to be so that was good. A crazy fog settled in in the second half and you couldn't even see across the field. I had fall retreat for Encounter at Little Galilee this weekend but due to the fog didn't head out until Saturday morning. It was a lot of fun just to be able to hang out and get to know people. We had services, worship, camp fires, small group, paddle boating, Frisbee, volleyball, and all kinds of other fun games. The downside was that I went to bed sick with a fever and sore throat...oh and the fact that there were not enough beds so I had to sleep on the floor. I woke up this morning feeling like crap. I made it home and slept the afternoon away. Then I had high school youth group kickoff. We had a wiener roast with some capture the flag and other joyous actvities. Now I am going to attempt to sleep off whatever sickness has found me this time.

Runnin round

Started the morning off in Kindergarten. Have I mentioned how much I enjoy it? No matter how tired I feel on the drive there when I get to the classroom I automatically wake up. Today we made number lines and friend books I wish that was the kind of homework we had around here. I also caught a millipede and a cricket in our classroom, the teacher was grossed out, bugs don't bother me. Came back and had a group meeting for my math class. We are teaching the activity tomorrow and we had to prep. I had an hour until class so I did my devotions then grabbed a pita and some hummus for lunch. Then it was off to boring Old Man River's class. It was exceptionally boring, three pages worth of drawings. Maybe just because I was especially anxious to get out of there today. As soon as class was over I headed to Springers. Jodi and Trey fly out in the morning so I wanted to spend some time with them before they left. Trey was being angry today, he was crying a lot. We think he may be cutting teeth, he was chewing on everything. Still crying or no crying he's adorable and now I must wait til Thanksgiving to see them again. I grabbed dinner at home then went to the church. Youth went really well tonight our elementary kids were good and our junior highers were fun. After church I went home and watched SVU soooo good. I may be mildly obsessed but I don't care, ha. Basketball in the morning bed in the, well, now.

Hot

So I found out today those gnats aren't really gnats at all but plant lice...yummy. Basketball kicked off the day, hurray conditioning. Workout was kind of hard today possibly because it was 40,000 degrees humid in the gym. We were sweating a small bit. I was tired so I crashed for a bit before heading off to class. In science today we practiced classifications, which meant we got to play with colorful toy fish. Then we read a book called "Diary of a Worm," it was funny. Then it was work time. I once again read Time Magazine, I'm starting to get all kinds of intelligent, ha. Lunch was unfulfilling, I hate working shifts that keep me from going to the cafeteria. Peanut butter and jelly just doesn't always cut it. Math class was all about adding, its a tricky subject which needs loads of time devoted to it. I think I have eaten and drank everything I could get my hands on today. For some reason I was hungry and thirsty at all times of the day. After class I went to Justin's for dinner. We had pork roast and some vegetables. It was delicious. We hung out the rest of the night watching the office. That show is hilarious no matter how many times you watch. Speaking of TV tomorrow is the season premire of Law and Order: SVU and I am beyond excited. You don't have to tell me I know I am a dork.

Gnatsy

I am thinking of investing in a bee suit. These gnats around here are all kinds of crazy. You can't walk to class without attracting a thousand of them. They get in your eyes, nose, mouth, and hair, and they make your skin all kinds of itchy. All said I am not a fan. Made it to German class right on time today. I am not real sure what we discussed I was reveling in the fact that my paper was done. I grabbed some lunch with Karen and Amy although it was not very fulfilling. The next hour was spent reading "Up From Slavery," because I had a test on it in Old Man Rivers class. I don't know how I feel about the test. I spewed 6 pages worth of knowledge, I just hope it was the correct knowledge. I am feeling a little nervous because I finished with 30 minutes to spare, I don't remember how long it took me to take his tests last year. After class I layed around and finally felt like I could breathe after a crazy weekend and an insane Monday. I checked my schedule discovered I had no major projects or homework for the week so I used the hour before pick up to simply relax. It was nice. Pick up was a little out of control today. We had 17 players, it was like a small army. We played for two hours and it was hot. There were gnats all over the gym and dead all over the floor, gross. I grabbed a delicious wrap from the
DugOut and have spent the rest of my night chilling in front of the T.V. Now I should get dressed and ready to head to Encounter.

Weekend Report

I am truly convinced that there is no better place to experince fall then small town central Illinois. I was home for the whole weekend and well I just love harvest time. I like to drive past the fields, follow tractors down the back roads, and look at the leaves. I love Friday night football and Sunday afternoon football. I like weiner roasts, playing with the dog, and bike rides. Tis just a lovely season. Anywas my weekend blew by and was packed jam crazy. Kicked it off with a Friday visit to see Jodi and Trey. Ahhh it was perfection I sat and held him for a solid 3 hours, heaven. Then it was off to football for a little Spartan action...and another victory. Saturday morning I got up nice and early to go watch Taylor and Ryker play soccer, entertaining. I piddled the afternoon away doing homework. This weekend was what I dubbed Norvapalooza at church. It was the celebration of our senior minister Norv's 25th year at MCC. Saturday night my highschoolers and I served food at a banquet held in his honor. Then there was a special service held after. It actually was done quite tastefully and was enjoyable, I wasn't expecting that. This morning church service was all about Norvert too. It was 2 hours long but broken up nicely between mini sermons and really good music. The whole thing was not as uncomfortable as I was fearing it was going to be. Plus I got to spend some time with Mike and Michelle Case so that made whatever annoying things totally worth it, I love them. This afternoon I did some more homework and watched the Packers choke, not happy. Then it was off to youth, we are studying Paul in Rome and I think it's really cool. We played some games, ate some food, and got our Jesus on. Went to Troy and Beth's on my way back to school to watch the first half of the Cowboys game and hang out. Then it was back to school where I finally completed my German essay for tomorrow, pressure is my friend. Tomorrow I have my first test of the semester over a book I didn't read...oops.

Dentist

I was sleepy this morning...all day actually. Musta not slept well, oops! I didn't go to basketball this morning but instead hit up the dentist. I was afraid I could not remember how to get there and the reasons were 2-fold. 1. One of my eyes was swollen shut and I was a little messed up last time I was there and 2. I am directionally challenged. But fear not Magellan the journey was made without mishap! I filled out all the necessary forms then it was back to the chair. In all honesty Dentist and Doctor's offices kinda trip me out, not a big fan. It wasn't bad though, they actually did nothing except check out my tooth. Dr. said it would take too long to do what they needed today and he didn't want to numb me go halfway and then have me come back and numb me again to finish. That I appreciate, I abhor needles. Anyways I shall venture back to the land of canines and cuspids next Friday. Off to class only we threw a curve ball today and our Ed. Teachers flopped schedules, math in the morning, science in the afternoon. We learned some crazy ways to multiply today that I had never heard of it was enlightening:) Work followed where I read an entire Time magazine, what can I say IWU has made me classy like that, oh and the fact that I had nothing else I could do and there were no Sports Illustrated. In science we read a book about rocks, played with apples, picked some leaves, and built paper helicopters. I know you're jealous. Went straight to pick-up we had lots of people today which equals lots of sitting around. A few of us shot around after and then headed to dinner. Nacho bar and New York Deli bar yums. The rest of the night I have been accumulating research on Germany in 1848, it's as awesome as it sounds. I must be off tomorrow is a big day, 6 am work, class, visiting Jodi and Trey and then football!

Kindergarten

Started the day off in Kindergarten and loved every minute of it. I was anxious to check it out this morning because I went on Friday afternoon and was a little let down. It's just that the kids do a lot of nothing all afternoon. This morning was a lot of fun. We did calander, weather, math centers, literature centers, a birthday book, and some word building. I love little kids. I was at the school for 3 hours then came back and grabbed lunch. A pita, hummus, and an orange, tasty. Then it was off to Old Man River's class. I spent my time drawing a picture of Kung-fu Panda. In my defense it was on some girls backpack in the classroom and well, it was taunting me:) He called me out to answer a question in class again. There are other kids he has had in class before in there and he never calls on them. Strange. After class I loaded up and headed home. It was a lovely day out I was rolling with the windows down and the stereo up, real nice. I played with the dog and fixed myself a tasty dinner....which I preceeded to scarf down. Still it was good. Headed to youth group. We had it in the park today because there was a visitation at the church. 65 K-8 kids it was organized chaos but we pulled it off and quiet well if I do say so myself. Talked to Lys for awhile about some position interviews at the church then stopped by home to grab my stuff and shower. The song stuck in my head all day? Sing Out by Cat Steven's check it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ha3Rm4MSX-g Tomorrow morning at 7:45 I go to the dentist to find out what to do with the half a tooth I am holding onto. Here's to hoping it goes well.

Late...almost

The morning got off to a rough start. I rolled over in bed and looked at my clock 6:28. I had basketball conditioning at 6:30. For a few seconds I was all kinds of confused. I couldn't remember what day it was or if I even had basketball. Then it clicked, I'm a little slow sometimes. Luckily I slept in my workout clothes. I jumped out of bed slid into my tennis shoes and ran to Shirk. I arrived right before we started our warm up, not late at all, ha! Anyways workout wasn't too bad a little intense but survivable. I came back and showered then laid down till class. Science class was enjoyable today. We presented photo essays. They were entertaining and we got to listen to music. Between classes I lounged around and then went to lunch. Breakfast at lunch I love it. Math class wasn't bad either. We played with the smart board, watched youtube, and did simulation activities with alligators and poker chips. Good times. I then had nothing to do for the rest of the night. I am not accustomed to free time. I started my homework at 4. I spent a suprisingly long time drafting and implementing a lesson plan for kindergarten science. It's not that writing lesson plans are hard to do, they're just so involved and legnthy. I took a break when I hit the halfway point just to take a short walk, hey it was nice out. I grabbed some PB and J for dinner then got back to work. I have other homework to do but I decided that was enough. I then watched Michael Jordan's HOF address on youtube cause I missed it. I don't know what I think about it, seemed a little too self absorbed. Called Grandpa to tell him happy birthday and spent the rest of the night watching SVU. This song has been stuck in my head all day, if you want check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae2GwJ3qyLI.

Early

Why hello Monday! I am blogging early because I am going to Encounter tonight yet still have to get up at 6 for basketball. Let's hope that's a good choice. I rolled straight into a lil Modern Germany today. We were all about Germany in 1848 today it was a good time. We each had a section to research, I had the Duchy of Nassau. I looked all weekend but didn't find much info. I was pleased when in class we really didn't have to say much about our places. I grabbed a quick lunch and ate with some of our freshman, it was alright. This afternoon I got to talk to my friend Kelsey Coker via Skype. She is in Spain for the semester so it was nice to be able to talk to her and attempt to get caught up, I miss her. Then it was off to Old Man Rivers class. No clue what we talked about today it was especially boring. I did draw some lovely pictures though. I had some time before pick up so I did a lot of nothing and loved it. I talked to Ryan for a bit, he cracks me up. Stupid Florida, I want him back in Illinois. Pick up was tiring today we had exactly 10 players. We did get a lot of games in though so that was nice. Sarah drove me home then I hit up the Dug Out for dinner. I got a chicken and portabello ciabata. I was gravely disappointed. I took off the chicken and just ate the other stuff but still not so good. Now I'm gonna hang til it's time to head out.

Football!

What a great weekend for football! Friday night's annihilation of U-High was awesome. U of I's slaughter of ISU was at least an improvement on last weekends embarrassment. And the Packer's defeat of the Bears was priceless. I was getting nervous there at the end of the game wondering if Rodgers could pull off a 2-minute-drill like Favre could and he delivered. I don't know what I love more that or the fact that Cutler threw FOUR interceptions. Chicago's savior is off to a great start. Ahhh. Started the morning off with some churchsky. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed today's worship selection and the sermon wasn't bad either. Right now I don't have a Sunday school class so I am just kind of floating. I attended the high school class today, always a good time. Came home and hung out with Mom and Brent. Watched the Vikes Browns game. I just can't not watch Brett Favre, I have a disease I'm sure of it. I was just hoping he didn't make a fool of himself. I don't want him to ruin his legacy. I can't be a Vikings fan, but maybe I can support Favre silently. At least while they aren't playing the Packers or vying for their playoff spot. Then Bren and I went cat hunting. There is a Siamese kitten someone dumped living in our garage. We want to catch and befriend it, we are failing, someday it shall be ours. Spent the rest of the evening at youth group. We started this neat video series called Paul in Rome, it's really good. After youth I went to Beth and Troy's to watch the first half of the game and hang out. I left at half time to ensure I could see the second half of the game and as stated before I LOVED it! But for now I should contemplate sleeping.

Mmmm Tooth

I feel like all I've done the last couple of days is sleep and the crazy thing is...I still feel tired. Got up bright, well more like dark, and early for basketball. Today's workout was harder and we are going to definitely be sore tomorrow. As much as I don't like the workouts while we are doing them when they are over they don't seem that bad. I was starving after, or so I thought. I decided to stop at the cafeteria and eat breakfast. I ended up drinking 2 glasses of juice and eating a muffin...and then feeling like hurling. I walked home took a shower and laid on my bed until class willing myself not to puke. Much to my pleasure I succeeded. Went to class early because we had presentations and we needed to make sure they worked. We were all sitting around and then noticed it was past time for class to start and our teacher is never late. Then we discovered the note in the corner of the door window, class was cancelled. I came back and slept some, yeah rest. I have felt better congestion wise today just a little nauseous and worn out. Went to work at 11 and spent 2 hours reading the paper and Sports Illustrated instead of doing homework. Piddled around until math class where we did some rousing mental math. My teacher dubbed me the human calculator. What can I say apparently 5th grade math is my gift in life ha. It was straight to the gym after class for some pick up. After we went out to the fields and watched the first half of the soccer game. Christina and I ate Tommy's for dinner. I got more than just my meal though I swallowed part of my tooth, awesome! Now I am prepping to go to Bible study I wrote early cause 6:00 work demands me to sleep.

Youth Group

It's 9:00 and I feel like it's midnight. I didn't even get up until 11:00 today either. My work schedule changed to make room for my field placement, only I had already made plans to go on Friday. So I had a pretty free day today. Good thing too I am sick again just real rundown and yuck. As said I got up late took a shower then laid back down. I went to meet my advisor at 12 only she didn't come. So again I came back to my room and slept. I wasn't hungry anyways so I chose today to do my CIY prayer fast for the week. Started off to 2:00 class feeling dizzy and tingly. I figured I should force feed myself anything and drink some fluids. It seemed to help. Class was all about Booker T. Washington. I found out today that not only did Old Man River shoot the breeze with Martin Luther King and the likes, he also lived in Afghanistan and speaks all kinds of crazy languages. Crazy dude. After class I packed up and headed home. I laid on the couch and petted the dog until I headed to the church at 5:15. Tonight kicked off our K-8 youth programs. We had a suprisingly big group, it was nice. We started with a helpers dinner and then it was off to the races checking everybody in and starting the night off. I'm not real familiar with the Wednesday night format but I am learning, it seemed to go okay and I enjoyed it. Wrapped it up and headed back here, now I'm thinking bed would be awesome. I got basketball at 6:30 am again tomorrow.

I awoke at the lovely time of 6:00 this morning thanks to basketball. We started preseason training today. Two mornings a week bright and early at 6:30. It actually wasn't too bad today. I wasn't too tired from not sleeping well nor did the workout kill me so I chalk it up to a good morning. Came back ate some breakfast and showered. I chilled for about 45 minutes until class started. In Science today we played word association games and drew animals. I drew a blue monkey, education classes are where it's at. Before lunch I put away the weekends clean laundry and took out 2 weeks worth of garbage. Met the team for lunch and laughter. In Math today we played with the smart board and did some practice activities, good times. I spent my time before dinner doing homework. It was all kinds of exciting but it's done so I'm happy with that. Kelsey came and had dinner with us in the cafeteria. Chicken bowl and banana's foster, twas a good meal. Then Kels and I went to the movies to see "All About Steve." It was cute-ish with some good one liners but I was hoping for a little more comedy. We chilled in my room awhile after the movie and then she dropped me off at my teammates house. It is now officially Nikki's 21st birthday so we went to the bar at 12 until 1. I was simply there for moral support and don't worry Mom I didn't walk I was picked up and dropped off at my door. Now I need to grab some z's because well I think I am getting a cold again.

Squirrel

Just got back from the dollar theater. As I've told you the place is awesome! We went to see "Up." Lys and I took Ryker to see it this summer when it first came out but I couldn't pass up an opportunity to see it again. It's a really good movie. The day started with me not wanting to get out of bed, but doing it anyways. At work I sat tiredly. I read a Sport's Illustrated and did a lot of nothing. On my way back to my room these squirrels were fighting in the tree. One threw the other out of the tall tree and it landed "smack" on the sidewalk right in front of me. It laid all rigid like for a few seconds, then crazy ran on his right side before using all four legs again. I was amused. Instead of lunch I spent 45 minutes praying and reading the Bible. It's my CIY challenge. We all got envelopes at conference with cards in them and if we opened them we had to do what they said. Some were real crazy like spending time in another country, but our kids got pretty doable ones, like giving up soda. Meggi and I both got the card that says to skip lunch once a week and instead spend the time in devotion and prayer. It was a good time to refocus. When I was done I was still tired so I slept until my next class. My body has just kinda been run down since I've started school, prolly cause I've been sick. For class I was supposed to read 55 pages of Booker T. Washington's "Up From Slavery," I read it in class instead. It was more entertaining than listening to Old Man River and I was doing my homework for his class at the same time, everybody wins. Next came pick-up we played for an hour and a half then had to start pre-season testing. We weighed in, were measured, ran a timed suicide, tested our vertical, and did some zig-zaggy cone run I renamed the drunk monkey. We were tired. We grabbed dinner at Tommy's cause we could and then I came back to the room and chilled until the movie. Now I think I'm gonna actually go read something before I go to class...or maybe not:)

Fee for Free

I woke up tired this morning. Probably because I wake up every two hours for some reason, it's awesome. Anyways off to science class where we learned all about lesson plans and suprisingly I payed attention. I came back to my room and hung out. My body was tired but I just couldn't take a nap. I met some teammates for lunch at 12. Beef brisket, mashed potatoes, green beans, and gravy. It was mighty tasty. I had an hour and a half before my next class so it was back to the room. I checked the mail and again was delighted to have some. I got about 4 more books I think I am only missing two, they will come soon. I read the paper and watched some tv before taking off to run some errands. I thought I had a bill due so I went to pay it. I was told I owe nothing right now because I had a credit on my account. I like that. Then I went to the registrars office to pick up some graduation papers. They confuse me I will have to have my advisor help me fill them out. Next I hit up the computer lab to print off some readings and assignments before class. Math class wasn't bad today. We played with manipulatives and the smart board the whole time. We measured each other with links and worked with geoboards, fun times. After class I changed clothes and headed home. Mom made me some frozen pizza and I played with Maddy for a while. We took our high school kids to Lincoln Christian University to see a Steve Fee concert. Fee is good and it was free so it was a good time had by all. You can check out a good Fee song here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFUnk3mJcaQ . I went back home and showered and ate a snack then came back to dorm sweet dorm. Now to watch TV.

Fall?

When did it turn fall? All the sudden the weather has drastically cooled down. I love autumn but I could use a few more weeks of shorts. Got up at the bright and early time of 10:30 today, still enjoying my sleeping in till classroom hours start. Headed off to Modern Germany. Once again I was interested, this is a good pattern. We discussed some readings I didn't read but I answered questions and participated exceptionally. It's amazing what an in class skim can teach you:) After class I ate some lunch, bean and rice burrito, yums. I then had an hour until my next class. I spent it talking, or more like arguing, with Kale. He loves the Brett Favre saga and how it has confused my entire being, ha. I could not tell you what we discussed at all in Old Man Rivers class today. But once again he took to calling me out by name in class, luckily this time it was simply social. After class got over I needed some stuff so I walked to Walgreen's. Things at Walgreen's are expensive, I walked home and drove to Walmart. I actually was going to buy markers and colored pencils, such is the life of an elementary education major. I got my goods headed home and set to coloring a science poster. Now that's the kind of homework I like and will do. Then it was off to a basketball meeting. We had a trainer presentation, talked some things over and set our preseason workouts. Hello 6am running, yuck. We hit up cafeteria dinner next and it was suprisingly delicious, chicken broccoli cheese casserole, sooooo tasty. I showered and checked the mail I got four of my books today, hurray! Tonight's Encounter was neat we Skyped our partner ministry in the Phillipines. It was really cool. Erica, Brittany, Kaylene, and Jared all came to service tonight, they are all from my home church. I took them back to the campus house gave them a tour and introduced them to some people before I drove them home. I just got back in once again parking my car at the library, I look like such a dedicated student!

Wedding Shower

Tis been a busy weekend. Friday was spent watching Football. They lost but Brent did ok and hey, it's football. Stayed at Sondgeroth's and stayed up late kicking Troy's but on the X-Box. Saturday was spent running errands with Beth and Taylor. Then I hit up a team party for the night. It was fun, I like my teammates. Stayed at home last night and spent almost my entire day at church today. I was there from 8:45am-8:00pm, good times. Service ran long today so that wasn't helping. I didn't go to Sunday School instead Beth and I set up decorations for Lys and Sam's wedding shower. It was fall theme and ended up looking really nice...at least I think it did ha. Then I made cookie platters. I was quite the cuisine designer. The shower was from 2-4 we had fewer people than we were expecting but still it went well. Lys and Sam got a lot of good stuff and I even had a good time hanging out with the people. After the shower Beth and I spent a solid hour cleaning up, fun. At 5:3o I decided I had to leave the church even if it was just for a few minutes. My high schoolers were showing up for youth group so I left them with Beth and ran home to change clothes. Mom gave me a plate of turkey on the way out the door and my ten minute vacation was over. At youth we had planned a movie night since Lys wasn't coming and we had been busy all day. We made some Mac and Cheese and hung out then watched part of "Second Hand Lions." I on the other hand fought with the copy machine. I was trying to prepare a Bible Study curriculum for my high schoolers to do at school. I had the materials I was just struggling to get them copied. I finally left the church at 8pm with everything done and cleaned up, it was a success. I went back home and showered and well it was great. I got some fruit to bring back to school then stopped at Beth and Troy's on the way back. We watched some football and the news and it was back here. I actually put away all my clothes and goods already, I am proud and it is on to a new week.

More Books

It's 9:00 and I am actually glad I am feeling tired. I am planning on some early bed seeing as I must be up at 5:30 am. Not happy about it but got to work 6-10am every Friday. That's a lot of time to do a lot of nothing....all the while tired. Anyways started off in Teaching Science with some snacks and coloring. I love it. I'm still waiting to hear back from my Co-op teacher to set my classroom schedule. I worked from 11-1 so I spent my afternoon reading the paper and watching Friends on my lap top. Brent's in the sports page of the Pantagraph, you should check it out. Grabbed lunch to go at Tommy's, a delicious BLT was my pick. Teaching Math is a ridiculous class. The teacher is crazy confusing and there is this girl I have never had in my education classes before that drives me nuts. She apparently thinks that she is the teacher and it annoys us all. Class led straight to pick-up. We played a 3 team rotation with the winner staying on. We played for an hour and my team only lost the last game so we never left the court. It was extremely hot and humid and we were dying. Could be why I'm tired eh? After pick-up Karen and I ate dinner in the cafeteria with the freshman. I was hungry and actually ate, a lot. There was this yummy sesame chicken sandwich I owned and it was crispy potato pancake day so there were good options. Post dinner has been showering and buying the rest to my text books online I think my semester total is somewhere around $200. Not bad considering one of my books in the book store was $150 on its own. Talked to Beth for a few moments. I am riding home with her tomorrow because FOOTBALL STARTS! I love football and am very excited in case you didn't know. I may just crash at their place tomorrow so who knows when I'll be back!

Dollar Theater

I was up til 3 am coughing last night. I love sicky. Headed off to work a lil before 10 to spend 2 hours pretending to read for class. I got bored and opted to read a whole People Magazine instead. Hey we all have priorities:) Checked out of work and had two hours to kill before class. I met some teammates for lunch. That cafeteria is still crazy train and lunch was well, gross. Got back to my room around one and took to emailing my Co-op teacher from Brigham. I am excited to get that underway so hopefully we get a schedule set up soon. Off to class where I am already bored out of my mind...it only took 3 days. Old Man River just knows how to make me shut off my brain. The man has a gift. Except for today I was totally zoning out and he stops in the middle of one of his hour long stories, calls me by name and asks me a question. First off he never stops his stories, second off he never asks questions, and third off he never calls on specific people. I was stunned by his move and didn't answer right away cause I had to process what was going on. After I realized that hey he really was asking me a question I pulled out some answer that he seemed happy with. But yeah it was weird. Then it was off to pick-up. It was incredibly hot in the practice gym today. Like my clothes were literally soaked, it was a good time. Grabbed some dinner with Christina, Sean, and Karen and it actually wasn't bad. Spinach lasagna, garlic bread, and some Lucky Charms with Soy Milk, tasty. Tonight we hit up the dollar theater down the street to see "Pelham 123" good movie, and sweet deal. The dollar theater is our new favorite place, I may never go see a movie in a real theater again, although we all know I will. Came back and did my homework as of 20 minutes ago, as said I am doing a great job prioritizing:) But as for now I think I wanna watch TV.

Education

I really did try to sleep last night...it didn't work out too well. Got outta bed and off to 9:25 class. I was actually almost looking forward to todays classes because I know everyone in them both since they are education courses. First came Teaching Science. The teacher seems really cool and interesting. I am hoping that holds true. Plus we played a game and she promised we get to color next class! We are also taking 2 field trips this semester, one to the zoo and the other to the Children's Discovery Museum, that's my kind of class:) I got my field placement today as well as a relief. I was placed in a Kindergarten class at Brigham Elementary, a Unit 5 school, both of which I wanted so I am pleased. The relief is that I use that placement for both my education courses and only have to log a total of 3-4 hours a week of classroom time, half of what I was thinking. I slept a little this afternoon although I wasn't planning on it, but I did feel better when I got up. Hit up the cafeteria for some lunch it was crazy, I'm hoping it slows down once all the freshman get settled. Then it was off to class number 2, Teaching Mathematics. This one may be a little hectic. I have heard the teacher is really nice but just not a good teacher. She has some sort of accent and talks in confusing circles. At least it is with kids I know so hopefully we can help each other. After class I called Jerred cause it's his birthday and then I called Lys. We talked for a solid hour, I guess this not seeing each other everyday leaves us a lot to talk about. By the way I have gotten mail each day I have been here and I am loving it, THANKS! I tried to buy some more books online and talked to Kale for a bit before grabbing dinner at the DugOut and heading to my teammates house. We hung out ate and watched 17 Again, which I enjoy. Now I need to start prepping for my day tomorrow!

Class Resumes

Rolled out of bed this morning at the ripe time of 10:30...that's later than I slept in for most of the summer. Twas grand. I loaded up my backpack and headed off to class. Modern Germany, what was I thinking? I don't remember signing up for my classes or why I picked what I did, but I have a random schedule. Anyways back to Modern Germany. My professor looks all of 12 years old. I'm sure he's at least like 25 but he looks 12 and talks in circles. At least he's energetic and German history is interesting. I think I'll give it a chance. After class I met coach and some of my teammates to eat at Tommy's with a recruit. I haven't eaten much since I've been sick, I settled for some broccoli cheese soup. Then I came back to my room and layed down. This whatever I have is making my body tired. Next class came at 2, Black Leadership/White Power, taught by everyone's favorite Old Man River. He was old as always and his lullaby voice was in full force, gets me every time. He was sniffing markers in class today to try and figure out why they didn't work and remarked that they "wouldn't get you high," it was funny. After that it was off to basketball we actually had enough for subs, which is a rare treat. We started out strong but by the second game we were tired. You could tell we weren't in shape but it was great to be with everyone again. I grabbed lunch at the DugOut then went to my teammates house to eat with them. I bought 9 of my text books online tonight for right under 50 bucks, I feel as if I saved mucho dinero and am proud of my efforts. I only have 3 I didn't get so I shall keep searching. Encounter was tonight the sermon was really good and I made an effort to talk to some new people. I remember how intimidating it can be to be there and know no one. Talked to my friend Jodi for awhile then it was back to here. Now I should go pretend to sleep.

I'm Back!!!

My summer hiatus has come to an end. I am now in a permanant place and always have computer access so my blogging should return to a pretty regular pace. I could get you caught up on my summer but I did too much and went to many places. I was busy and running all over and I loved every minute of it. Too bad my school year officially started over an hour ago. I miss my freedom already. As most of you know I am now the assistant youth minister at our church at home, I will keep that up throughout the school year working on Wednesdays and Sundays. I will also carry a full class schedule along with clincal hours spent in elementary schools. Along with that I am playing basketball and working a job here at school. It's looking like I am gonna be busy, but with me free time can be distracting and way too unproductive. Just pray I can keep it all under control! I am all moved in and mostly organized thanks to the Sondgeroths and the Rents. All that's left to do is hanging posters and putting away my desk stuff. I hate packing and unpacking so I'm glad I had lots of help. Today was pretty low key. I am sick which is an awesome way to start the school year. Nothing bad just allergies which warped into a cold, fun times. Went to church this morning then spent most of the afternoon sleeping. Mom and I did run to Goody's in Lincoln. I need nice clothes to wear in the schools so if anyone has any extra send 'em this way! The night was spent at High School youth, gearing our kids up for the year and doing some planning. I stopped by Troy and Beth's before coming back to school to hang and kick Troy's butt in Xbox games. I dominate him. Got back to town and dropped by my teammates house to say hey before bringing the rest of my stuff to my room. Biggest problem of the day? Parking. I cannot find a decent place to park my car. I drove around for 30 minutes and finally parked at the library and walked hopefully we can remedy this tomorrow but for now I should probably hit the hay.

10 Months!

10 months later and that's right tomorrow is my last day!! I am ready for summer, to start my job, to hang with my friends, and to stay up late with a purpose. I presented my book in class today I had to read it to the class and kind of explain it. It went really well. We had to write each other notes if they wrote books and mine were all very positive. My teacher says I should try to get it published, I don't know if I'd go that far. Everyone had done some really neat stuff I'm excited to see the other half of the class's tomorrow. I lost my ID last night so the rest of that munch money will not be spent nor will I be eating in Saga. Losing that thing is like a daily game of hide and hope to find. Instead of lunch I opted for a quick nap before work, I was tired. I cooked some pizza rolls and took them to work with me to eat. Work was real boring today, I had some work to do but my focus was non existent. When I got off work I threw some more of my stuff into totes. Tomorrow it all must go. Then I drove to Troy and Beth's to meet for softball. Their dog was loving me, she splashed her water bowl all over me. The game was fun because it always is. We only lost 20-8 today, improvements every day! As previously stated my focus was not working today so I may have made a few errors. Ryan and Jimmy walked through the line after the game introducing me to everyone as the worst player. I need new friends. Dairy Queen came after, since we lost by less than 20 we were allowed to get what Jimmy calls "exotics," aka anything outside a cone or slushy. Hey don't say we don't have pride. I opted for a hot fudge shake and twas tasty. Came back here and wrote my last paper of the year, yeah! Talked to Kale and Patti for a bit and then I had to shower. I think it's a bad sign when you smell yourself.

Final Done!

2nd day this week of getting up at 11:45 ha I love it. Woke up just in time to meet the girls for lunch. Stacey doesn't have a meal plan anymore so I spent some of my left over money so she could eat. I think I have 20ish dollars left to spend before Friday. Lunch left a lot to be desired, I think we are in serve everything that's left mode...even if it's stale. After lunch we sat outside and played with Brittany's yellow lab puppy. He is real cute, I love dogs. Then I hit up the library to work some more on my final. I decided instead of illustrating the book I would just artsy up the text with some fun effects. Still these things take time. Then off to work. I left for a few minutes to sell back 2 text books for a whopping return of 8 dollars...total. Awesome I feel like there must be something illegal to the way that system works. Anyways back at work I spent the whole time raiding magazines, posters, or anything I could cut up. I was looking for words and pictures to make my book cover with. I have it set up like a writing journal and so I wanted the outside to be a collage. Brent came up after work to help me move some of my heavy things to Justins. Namely my fridge. We got some more stuff out just a little more to go. Nate was at Justin's too so we all just hung out and watched hockey and I pieced together my cover. I came back home and realized there was more I wanted to move but oh well I'll have to do it later. I got my book all put together and I like it a lot, I hope the teacher does too. The presentation is tomorrow so I guess we'll see.

Softball

I just got back from a frustrating tour of Bloomington. Kels and Jess called for me to pick them up from a party but they didn't know how to tell me to get there. Helpful, but no worries I found them and got them home. I couldn't sleep last night I was up till 3 then woke up at 5 dead tired but through a little fighting I feel back to sleep. Class was all about poetry novels and non-fiction today. I love poetry novels, in fact I am writing one for my final project. Actually its all written as of today thanks to Shirk Center working. Now all I have left are the doodles and the cover. After work I sat around waiting for a call to either confirm or cancel our softball game. It was still on. I guess when you are as good as us the rain just can't stop you. Taylor's game was cancelled so I met up with Troy and Beth and rode with them again. It started raining the minute we hit Lincoln, but luckily it never really busted through. It lightly rained the first few innings then stopped all together. Not that it affected our performance, we lost 24-1. But we played a whole game and we SCORED! We have too much fun losing. I spent most of the night messing around with Ryan he was in a funny mood today. I am glad he is home, I miss him in Florida. We hit up DQ post game as always and it was delicous. We spent an hour out front just hanging out and laughing. Drove back to school and hit up the library to print out my poetry book then went to Sean's to meet up with my teammates. Stacey came back from her trip and was here to visit so of course I had to go see her. I can smell myself right now sweat, rain, dirt, shower.

Packing up

I may have gotten up at 11:45 today and it may have been glorious. Apparently I was tired although I didn't go to bed until 2 last night. Anyways first thing I did was head across campus to eat lunch with Hols and Sarah. I thought I was hungry, I wasn't. I settled for the always delicious butterscotch rum muffin. I warmed it up in the microwave, but apparently didn't wait long enough for it to cool. I hate burned tongues. I tried to go to the library on my way back but it was not open yet so back to the dorm I went. I spent the afternoon trying to pick up and pack up a few things. I cleaned out my school stuff and threw away a tote full of paper. I packed one box and most of my posters up. Then it was off to the library to work on school work. I was there for 3 hours typing up some stuff and then working on a group grant. I hate the library. Headed to Justin's when I was done for some dinner. I moved all of the stuff I had packed into his basement as well as all of Kaho's stuff that was still in her car. For dinner we had salad, steak, shrimp, asparagus, and french fries. We didn't really eat much shrimp he just had to cook it before it went bad we threw it in the fridge for later. The rest of the food was mighty tasty though. Kelsey came and hung out for awhile and ate some left overs. We were battling all night in some war game on Xbox. I can't remember the name but it was fun although Kels and I weren't very good. I did kill Justin a few times though and I got better. Now I'm needing to go to sleep only 3 more days of class!

Great Day

Spent last night at Lys with Brent. We were dog sitting and chilling out good times. Got up this morning for a lil church. I was introduced today to the congregation as the new intern and had to stand up it was awkward. I met Matthew's girlfriend, Rebecca, for the first time today and I must admit I like her. Most of the boys girlfriends do not like me or are trashy. She was already joking around with me and was super nice, I think we can keep her around. After church I ran to Lys to finish packing up my clean laundry and to grab a quick hot dog for lunch. Then it was back to the church to get ready for Jodi's baby shower. Kaylee and Britney came and helped me out decorating and getting everything set up. It was a great shower, all of the girls came and it was fun just to be together. Jodi looked really good but seeing her makes me realize how much I'm going to miss her when she's gone especially when she has the baby and I know I won't get to see him much. Still it was nice to be able to throw her a little party and to help her get a lot of the stuff she needs, plus make her cry from laughing. Sometimes I miss the old days. After clean up and tear down it was time to go help Lys get ready for the youth cookout at her house. I ran some errands and got things set up. Then Brent, Trey, and I went over to check out Ryan's new house. They moved in town yesterday, the house is nice but I'm going to have to get used to it. The funniest part though is that Ry's room has Tonka wall paper and fire engine closet handles, I think they are perfect. Drove Matty, Ry, and Rebecca back to Lys and spent the whole evening just hanging out with the kids and Troy and Beth. It was so much fun, very summery, these are my favorite kinds of nights. When the kids left Ry and I watched a little Jim Gaffigan and laughed hysterically then it was time for me to come back to school. For some reason my calves are aching so to bed to bed I said.

U of I

Today was another tired day. I have poor sleeping habits. Got up and made it to the bus on time this morning. I cannot remember the ride, my friends said I fell asleep, my bad. We went to the U of I library, but specifically the childrens literature room. It was awesome! They are sent almost every book that is published every year in the field of children's lit and they just store them in this room. The library majors study them and do the reviews for lit magazines. It was neat to see all that is out there. I have come across so many books I would love to read, too many actually. Lately I have noticed I have a pretty strong addiction to reading books and listening to music, it's weird, or maybe I'm weird. For lunch we had Chipoltle it was tasty. The weather was once againg beautiful so the few minutes we spent walking downtown were enjoyed. Rode back then I ran errands all afternoon. I took back my broken bike lock, bought new sunglasses, and browsed. I dropped some clothes off at Goodwill and checked out their books. They had some books from the Sweet Pickles series I remember reading those all the time at Grandpa and Grandma's. I went to Plato's closet to check out some clothes, I was there for a while but didn't buy anything. Then I met Sarah for a bike ride today we made it all the way out to airport road. Who knew these trails were so cool...or long. Grabbed dinner then went to work. No one else showed up for my shift so that was helpful, not. The rest of the night I have chilled out I've been a little wound all week, I think I needed the relaxation.

Burned Knees

I'm eating Goldfish right now, because well I love a good snack that smiles back. I did not want to get up this morning. I did not get to bed till 2 cause I was talking to Kale which I don't mind but man I was tired when I got up. I made it through class though no worries. We are ont ot Native American literature now, always a good time. We talked to a group of 5th graders from Berwin the second half of class. They were on a college tour, it was sooo funny to see them taking pictures of everything and so excited. After class I did not get lunch but I went straight to work. Work was real real boring today. It was so nice out I just wanted to go out and play. Instead I whittled away 3 hours doing things of which I cannot recall. Work got over and nap time beckoned me, it was necessary. I woke up and went to Shirk to watch the 3 on 3 battle of Hope, Hols, and Sarah vs. some baseball guys. It was entertaining. I shot around for a bit then went on a bike ride to soak up the sun. Which is exactly what happend to the insides of my knee's, they got burnt bright red. How random is that? We grabbed dinner at the cafeteria then I rode a little more, I found a dollar. I was supposed to play intramurals tonight for our friend Brittany but then they had enough players so I didn't have to. I ran back and took a shower then met up with some of the basketball guys and my teammates. We were celebrating because it is the last night most of our seniors are here. We had fun hanging out but now I need some sleep tomorrow I got to be up at 7:30.

Beautiful

Wow it has been beautiful all day, even when I woke up. Class was spent on some more Asian readings. I had to give my "book talk" today on a picture book. I did it on "Just the 2 of Us," by Will Smith. The pictures in the book are awesome and I know the words are a song but they still have a great story and meaning behind them. We even got to spend some time outside during class soaking up the sunshine. Yeah out door lit circles...and smoothies. I have become addicted to the smoothies here and am using them to suck up all my left over munch money before school gets out. They are mighty tasty. After class I was free till 3. I grabbed lunch with Hols, Hope, and Sarah. Chicken fingers and fries yummalicious. We chilled out for a bit before they headed to class and I to my room. I spent some time watching TV and took a quick nap before going for a light bike ride before work. Work was real boring today because I had already done all my homework. I spent it watching episodes of The Office online because it's hysterical. After work Sarah met me and we went on yet another biking adventure. This time we found another new path and made it all the way out to Raab rode. It was a brilliant day for a bike ride. Came back grabbed some To-Go at Tommy's then went to Kelsey's. Jessie got home this week so we cooked up some dinner (tortellini) and just hung out. It was fun to be back together. Now it will be fun to go to bed.

Summer Softball

Is it summer yet? Cause it's sure feeling like it and I'm ready to be done with class. Today we read some stuff, big shock I know. We have moved into Asian American literature. I read about Japanese internment camps and baseball. For some reason I have always found that topic interesting. We also had a big discussion on the Americanization of Asian-Americans and how some of them change their name either forced by some one or in an effort to fit in. We started a new novel called "Blue Jasmine," it is about a teenage girl whose father is a biologist and moves to Iowa to work. She leaves her family behind in India and so far it's been a good read. After class I grabbed a quick lunch the ever favorite "breakfast at lunch." It's so good french toast sticks, sausage links, hash browns, and OJ, yum yum. Too bad I ate it in .5 because really I was supposed to be at work, oops! Then it was off to work. I spent it doing homework and being bored. It was so beautiful I wanted to be outside. Walked home and changed then headed to Sondgeroths for the big softball game. They have a rental car a little Yaris we drove it to Lincoln with 5 people in it, we picked up Trey on the way. The game was a blast per usual and we lost 22-0 per usual. I got a lot of kids my age-ish to play so it was enjoyable to be with each other and just have fun. Then we made our post game DQ run which is always delicious. Back at Sondgeroth's Troy helped me "fix" my car. The tailpipe was dragging completely so for now he just took it off, it's in my trunk. Went on a few go cart laps with Taylor then headed back here. I missed the begining of SVU and I'm not too excited about it but what I saw was solid. Two weeks is the finale and some one dies, I can't wait. Lys called and I am OFFICIALLY hired at MCC, yeah! I'm ready to get started....not that I haven't already:)

Library Visit

Wow I hate 6 am. After a very unrestful and very busy weekend I was not welcoming the morning. I woke up suprisingly awake though and trolled right through my shift. I spent it catching up on some TV shows via the internet. I know I work too hard:) Today for class we took a "field trip" to the Bloomington Public Library. Honestly it was cool I really haven't been in a real library before only school ones. The amount of books was astounding, I want a card there are so many I want to read. Yes yes I am a nerd. We had to listen to the librarian talk for an hour that was a bore. Librarians are strange. The rest of the time was ours to roam around read and just check things over, it was interesting enough. After class I came home and had a little left over Taco Bell burrito. Taco Bell never gets old. I spent the afternoon not doing much, I did take a long nap though. It was necessary I think I had 9 total hours of sleep for the whole weekend, I needed some catch up. At 4 I went on another biking adventure with Sarah. This time we discovered whole new trails. We found a neat one that runs under Veterans all the way out past the Chateau. There's nature back there and every thing who knew? We rode through downtown Normal as well checking out the little shops as we rolled by. We rode for an hour and a half getting a good cardio in. I came back and talked to Troy for a little bit we are trying to round up players for church league softball tomorrow. So far I have 5 players, it's frustrating. Then I went to Justins for dinner we had bratwurts and potatos and sat around and watched "Rookie of the Year," which I must admit is still to this day hilarious. But for now I need to take a shower.

Books

These weeks seem to drag and fly at the same time. I can't believe I'm almost or well pretty much a senior. I still feel 5...maybe cause I still act like it. Class this morning was spent reading some more Hispanic books. There is this one called "Skippyjon Jones," that I find hilarious for some reason. It's just a funny book. I love that most of the books that are in English have Spanish words thrown in. Makes me wish I was fluent in the language not just knowledgable. Anyways headed to work for the afternoon right after class, grabbed lunch to go at Tommy's and planted myself at the desk. I read the rest of "Naomi Leon," good stuff. After work I headed to the library to get some info for an "author spotlight," I made my group choose Walter D. Myers because well I love his stuff. I was suprised when reading through his list of books I have read a large sum of them. Next I went to Borders. I feel like I could spend days in book stores there is so much to look at. I was doing a survey of the childrens lit section for my class. We had to check out the multicultural books and authors to figure out how available they are mainstream. I didn't find many picture books but they had lots of young adult novels about all kids of cultures. Sarah and I had made plans to hit the Constitution Trail so I met up with her and off we rode. It was a beautiful day out and the nature twas lovely. There were these milk cartons hanging on trees with something yellow in them (anyone know what they are?) we decided they were dragon feeders. After an hour ride we met Hope and Holly for dinner it was gross. I rode around some more after dinner cause it was so nice out. I had discovered earlier my bike lock was broke so I pretend locked it up then went to WalMart. I had nothing pressing to do so I browsed the store and checked out the books there too exciting. Now I am a little tired and feeling like laying down.

I am Awesome

Last night I was awesome. Kelsey locked her keys in her room at her apartment (she's dumb) and we couldn't get them out. We tried prying the door open, picking the lock, and even removing the door knob. Finally I got tired of it and decided to whip out my SVU skills. I kicked the door right in didn't break anything. I'm pretty cool, good thing I watch Detective Stabler do it all the time, it really prepared me. Anyways then we went to see "Ghost's of Girlfriend's Past," it was funny I enjoyed it. Woke up to a light drizzle this am and walked on to class. We are now studying Hispanic literature, whoo hoo. The class is really interesting I love reading the books from the different cultures, it's neat. It monsooned while we were in class ocean's of rain fell. Lucky for us though it wasn't raining when we left class. I spent the afternoon doing busy work. First I filled out, addressed, and put stamps on all my invitations for the baby shower. Then I transfered a list of contacts into my email account. For my job at the church I am in charge of our summer softball team I put all the players in one group so getting out messages will be a cinch, it just took a long time to do. Then it was off to work, only today I didn't really work. I did for an hour then we had pick-up. My friend Jodi from ISU came and played with us so we could have 10 players. It was so hot and humid in the gym today it was crazy. After playing I quick showered then went to the library to work on a group project. Coach Thomas called so I talked to him for a bit which was nice. The rest of the night has been spent reading "Becoming Naomi Leon" for class, it's a good book, but I am kinda a nerd.

Frostbite

Apparently I have taken some time off from blogging. You must pardon my distractedness. With the lack of scheduled evening activities it has been a free for all and well writing hasn't taken the front. Anyways yesterday was a good day it really made me want it to be summer. Went home for church in the morning. Ryan came home yesterday so I'm pretty excited and want to be home to hang with him. I spent the service sitting between Ry and Matty, bad idea. We spent more time talking and being dorks then listening, I guess we missed each other. Went to Sunday school then spent the afternoon at home chilling. Then off to Tremont for Mother's Day festivities, always a good time. It was a nice day out too, minus the 10 minute of rain. Anyways it was great to see everybody and just relax...oh and eat food, I was hungry. Came back and hung out with Matty, Ry, Trey, and Meggi doing absolutely nothing of worth but loving it. It got me psyched for summer as well. I awoke this morning at the ripe ol' time of 5:30. 6 am shift how I loathe thee. It was FREEZING cold in the Shirk center this morning. I don't really know why but it was crazy. People were skipping their morning workouts because it was sooo cold. I was walking around to avoid frostbite and falling asleep. I found warmth in the locker room and then took a light slumber on the couch, Shirk is dead from 6-8am. Got off at 9 and headed to class. We were read like 4 books today it was awesome. We also got to go outside and read which was nice. After class I am not sure what I did. I was tired I probably sat around maybe took a nap. Went to the park in the afternoon to do my homework aka read a book and do some writing. It was enjoyable. Then I went on a nice long walk downtown because I could. I found the best rock ever...then I forgot it at Justins. Went to Justins for steaks on the grill, yum. Spent the evening hanging out and eating with him and Kaho. We were watching the Blackhawks game, I am tired so I left after the 2nd period. I wonder how it ends?

May Term

Ahh back to school. I actually came back Tuesday but just didn't write, oops! My May term class I am taking is called Multicultural Children's Literature. My advisor is actually the teacher, she's a nice lady. I go to class from 9-12, that's a long time to focus, luckily she gives us a 20 minute break. I'm thinking this class is pretty sweet so far. We read children's books everyday for half the class. Picture books, pop-up books, ABC books, anything, it's awesome. Yesterday I was bored at work and read one of the 2 novels we have for that class and it was good too. Everyday we are read aloud to as well, I like it. We even are taking 2 field trips. I feel like I'm in grade school again ha! I am also working 15 hours a week at Shirk. So far I am finding myself insanely bored but as mentioned reading books. It may actually be a good thing, it will force me to do the readings. I even took notes on our textbook today, I don't read textbooks. I am a bit worn out right now. Tonight 6 of my teammates and I went to the DoubleTree Hotel and babysat for children of some kind of Bromen Hospital employees. Our assisstant Coach Tasha works there and asked if we'd help. So from 4:45-8:30 the 7 of us watched and wrangled about 25 kids from infants to 11 year olds. They were fun and we were enjoying chasing them around and playing with them. Plus we got a free dinner. Free food and kids, what's not to love! But as previously stated I am a bit tired so to bed I said.

Ducks

I am writing an early one tonight. Got up this morning and headed to my Middle School final. It was just informal presentations of our IDU's and explaining our lesson plans. Went off without a hitch and we were all done in an hour. Then I headed to work. I couldn't bring myself to read my history for some reason. I read Sports Illustrated instead, that magazine has some kind of hold on me. After work I was going to get lunch but decided I wasn't hungry instead I just walked home. I remembered I had a bunch of message boards to complete by tomorrow so I spent about an hour getting them all finished up. Then I laid down for a few minutes, sleeping is not coming lately but the relaxing was nice. I picked up another shift at work today so I headed back out soon after. I grabbed some lunch from the DugOut on my way. This time I actually did homework at work. I breezed the first half of Alex Haley's biography on Malcolm X. I read it in High School but needed a refresher. I had grabbed a pita platter for lunch (veggies, hummus, and a pita). It is usually delicious but the hummus was disgusting today I couldn't eat it. I settled for the veggies a plain pita and a TLC bar. After work I walked back home I went over some more readings but wasn't too focused. Met the girls for dinner. There were some ducks in the quad on my way. A pretty mallard and a girl duck (what do you call that??). I love ducks, I often find myself gawking at them. I don't know why I find them so fascinating. Anyways I had vegetarian lasagna for dinner usually this means it's made with veggies, I think tonight's had tofu. It was strange I ate it anyways. Tonight I stumbled upon this amazing thing called SparkNotes and it saved me. I hadn't read much of what I needed for my history test and this website had all the information I needed in nice normal English. It is AWESOME! Packed my book bag and organized my things for the morning. I have 2 finals tomorrow. 2 Essay tests, 2 hours each, back to back, Eight to Noon. It's gonna be a rough one. But for now it's off to Bible Study.

I got a job!

It has been a great night and let me tell you why. I got a job!! But not just any job I am now the youth ministries intern at Minier Christian Church. I am beyond excited I will be getting paid to do what I love and hang out with some awesome kids. I'll get to go to CIY with my high schoolers and plan events and programs for all the kids. Crazy how God works sometimes. I kept looking up dead end jobs. Then 2 days ago Lys brings up something about an intern at MCC. I'm telling her yeah she could use one, help would be good, blah blah blah, and then she says she's talking about me. Where I wasn't even looking is where God was working, seems that happens a lot in my life, but grace is good. So yeah I'm excited. Onto the rest of my day. Woke up this morning and headed to work early to write a paper. Hammered it out in no time. Then I went to an athletic drug meeting, always a good time. We got to use these cool clicker things so I guess it wasn't too bad. Then back to work, I read magazines. After work I decided if I was going to get any reading or test prep done today I would need to rid myself of some energy. So I took off running, 4 miles later I called it a day. Mailed some letters for my class on the way home and grabbed a lovely lunch, fruit cup, water, and PB & J. Then to the library where I printed off some study guides among other necessities. I sat on my bed turned on some SVU for a short cool down and apparently fell asleep for a bit. I woke up to Mom calling my phone. After that I decided time to get back to work. I went to the library where I knew I could hide away and stay focused. I worked for an hour and a half grabbed a quick dinner then headed back for an hour. I planned out my entire Ed. essay and wrote out all my notes for it. Good work. Took a quick shower then headed to Kelseys. We went to see 17 Again tonight. It was a cute movie and I love Matthew Perry, so it was a winner. Plus the popcorn was tasty.

Crazy Weather

I was up until at least 2 last night. I was doing absolutely nothing just sitting in bed wide awake not sleeping. When I finally fell asleep I didn't wake up until 10:30 I didn't have class this morning. I was planning on sleeping longer but it was Kelsey texting me. Since I was up I wrote a paper while waiting for her to come over. We went to lunch at Applebee's it was delicious. She had a giftcard, good thing since I don't have a wallet and therefore have no money. I left it in Mom's purse on Sunday, oops. We ate and hung out for a little bit before she dropped me off at the library. I had another meeting for my Middle School Project. 8 lesson plans, 1 calendar, an overview, and a culmative project done. Now all I have is a reflection paper. Walking over to sociology class I was freezing I wished I had wore a sweat shirt. Sociology was an utter bore but I had to go so I could take my last quiz. When I left class for Shirk it was raining. Pick-up was kind of a joke today. No one played real serious I think we just needed the break and to be with each other. Finals week is always stressful. By the time we went to dinner the sun was shining and it was pretty out. Illinois weather is straight up crazy. At dinner I found out I had and Ed. paper due at 6 it was already past 6. I took my time eating bid the team farewell then walked home. I wrote my paper in less than an hour and turned it in, my teacher had never mentioned a time stamp just said it was due today. I'm going with that. Watched some SVU did a little reading and chilled. Tomorrow is reading day and I got some work to do to get ready for my finals. Maybe I'll actually sleep tonight.

Typhoon

I think I am to the point where I am so tired I cannot sleep. It was kind of like that last night too, oh well. Got up this morning for my last session at BJHS. While it wasn't always a fun adventure it was an adventure and I must say I learned a lot from it. I came back to my room expecting to sleep and get my body caught back up....but it didn't happen. I couldn't do it. Instead I did my laundry and cleaned up the homework mess that was overtaking my room. Grabbed a lunch of a sub sandwich at the DugOut then it was off to the last lecture of Old Man River. It was a mind rivetor per usual full of droning on and a few hilarious comments. Came back and watched some SVU cause it's awesome then finally snuck in a quick 30 minute nap. I was lucky I had walked around all day and it hadn't rained on me. I stepped out of my dorm walked one block and then was caught in some kind of crazy wind gust with lots of water. It was weird I couldn't even walk I had to stop till it blew by. I think it was a typhoon, they are native to these parts:) Anyways I made it to the library albeit a little moist. My group met from 5-7:45 but we wrote 8 detailed lesson plans and an overview. It was an accomplishing 2 1/2 hours. I took a break halfway through to grab some dinner. They were fresh out of hummus plates so I settled for 2 bowls of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and some Naked Juice. Naked juice is interesting it is supposedly a pound of fruit in a bottle. All I know is that it tasted good. After the library I hit the shower then headed to Encouter. This weeks worship was really good and the sermon hymn was Amazing Grace. I love the Hymn study. And now I need to go try out my new toothpaste!

Formal Fun

Team Photo Opt-Looking Fancy
Ahh a return to real life, the getaway was pleasant...albeit tiring. I am glad I went to formal I was debating it all week but it was a blast. We loaded up Saturday afternoon with the intent of leaving at 1:30. Didn't happen. The Bulls went into overtime and well, we just had to watch it. As much as I hate the NBA it was a good game. I rode to Springfield with Christina, Sean, Anthony, and Stacey. They were looking out the windows complaining about having nothing to look at. They just don't get central Illinois. Actually at one point Christina thought that these animals which were clearly white cows...were SHEEP. Are you kidding me?? We arrived at the Plaza at about 3:30 and the craziness began. We spent pre-dinner hanging out, goofing around, and watching the Cubs win. That was also a great game! Dinner was delicious some kind of chicken cordon bleu thingy and a chocolate cheesecake dessert. There was a dance floor but I never made it to it. Stacey and I spent the dancing time taking care of ailing teammates because we are givers like that. The night raged on as more and more people went down for the count. 6 of us survived the first round the longest and therefore are the champions of formal. We had so much fun just laughing and being dumb. We went to bed a little after 4 right about when the earliest passer outers were resurrected for round 2. It was noisy and the floor was uncomfortable but I think I squeaked in an hour or two of sleep. Got up early this morning for no reason and just hung out some more. Rode home with Nikkie and Devon although I do not remember the ride, I must've fallen asleep. I took a shower when I got home and it was the greatest feeling ever, seriously it was awesome. Slept for a while then woke up and Mom and Brent went to Alexander's with me for our basketball banquet. Dinner was delicious I did not like to slow cook my own steak though. We had a good dinner and I enjoyed spending more time with everybody. Mom and B went home and the rest of us went to Shirk to continue the banquet. We had letter awards, presentations, and a highlight film. We got some neat stuff but it was sad to finally have to put a cap on the season and label it as over. After the festivities it was straight to work which I zombied through. Now after my incessant ramblings bed sounds delightful!

So Pretty!

Last night was a crazy one. We had a team bball celebration party everyone had a bottle of champaign. Except Stacey and I...they bought us sparkling grape juice. Anyways it was fun to just hang out and be us. Got up this morning for all the glory that is the Shirk Center. I downed 2 Sports Illustrateds. As much as I miss the Rick Reilly columns I still love the last page articles they through in there. Those and the Dan Patrick section are the best. Anyways after work I had to print off my field hours log to get signed. Only there was little ink to be had. I took what it gave me and wrote the rest myself. It looks very professional. Today was my last official day in the 6th grade. It was sad I loved working in that class. My kids were asking me all kinds of questions abot what I wanted to teach and if I'd come back and visit. One of them told me that I should teach 2nd grade because 2nd grade teachers are mean and I could be a nice one. Haha as I recall my 2nd grade teacher wasn't too kind, maybe they are on to something. I grabbed some Fusion Brew on the way home. It was so pretty and warm out I thought a cool refreshing drink would be the perfect accessory. When I got back I grabbed lunch then went out to enjoy the lovely weather. Days like this make me miss Lincoln, I could always get someone to go out and play with me. Instead I went on an hour walk just soaking up the sun and chasing squirrels, twas lovely. Then I sat around until dinner. The selection was nasty, I had PB & J, always satisfying. After dinner I hung out at Dodd's, it was so nice we wanted to go out. Sarah ended up borrowing a bike and we went and rode the Constitution trail for and hour and a half. It was so nice out and the trail is awesome for riding, we rather enjoyed ourselves. Now I'm thinking I should grab some sleep tomorrow is basketball formal in Springfield and I don't see myself sleeping much.

Found ID

I was not wanting to get up this morning. I keep having these crazy dreams this weeks. Today's was about a bunny, weird. Went to BJHS where lo and behold my ID was waiting for me. The same lady that gave it back to me last time had it. She just laughed at me. Hurray for being able to eat again! Next Monday is my last day there, maybe I'll miss a little of it, but mainly I'll just like the extra sleep. Came back and changed clothes then went to work. I worked on my education paper while there and made some headway. Drove my car back to the dorm then walked to lunch. Pita, veggies, hummus, and yogurt, light and tasty. They finally had the Pantagraph back, they haven't had them in awhile. I spent my time before class reading the newspaper. I love the newspaper, I'm kind of a dork. Civil Rights class was a bore per usual. The topics are so interesting but Old Man River and that crazy lullaby voice. After class I came back and took a short nap. Then I headed to the library. I made myself stay there for 3 full hours, until my education paper was finished. I was proud of myself and by 7:30 had nothing else to worry about for the rest of the night. I grabbed a sub at the DugOut for dinner then walked home and ate it. The rest of the night I have simply relaxed and it was awesome. Watched a good SVU episode, shocking I know. Now I'm thinking my bed sounds lovely.

Lost ID

Ahh homework how I despise thee. I was actually on time to class this morning...well almost. I count a minute late as on time. We had a competition in class it was fun and kept me awake. Came back to the room and slept a bit then did some reading for the afternoon. Then I ran some errands around campus. I turned in my financial aid stuff and printed out some papers. I somehow lost my ID so I couldn't eat lunch in the caf. Luckily I found a gift card I had won to one of our campus stores. I settled for a Nacho's Lunchable and some Tropical Skittles, both which I love but not much of a lunch. Off to Middle School class, our last of the year. We played Ninja in celebration it was fun. Then Sociology we were discussing cancer, such a depressing topic. After class we had pick-up. I was in a bad mood for some reason so I sat out the first game and relaxed. We played for an hour and a half then headed to dinner. Stacey was kind enough to let me use her ID to eat. She has a bunch of munch money and is traveling abrod for May term so she won't use it. I am hoping I left my ID at BJHS and can get it back tomorrow. Who knows with me I lose everything. The rest of the night was spent homeworking. I am writing my last education portrait. I worked for about 2 1/2 straight hours which for me is impressive. Then my concentration left me. I'm about halfway there. It's due Thursday, looks like tomorrow means more writing.

Happy Birthday Amelie!

I love Easter weekend. Full of relaxation, candy, and family good stuff. Even brought back the Easter egg hunt at Grandma's always a crowd pleaser. Stayed at home for the weekend and came back this morning. Went to BJHS and did my thing, I skipped observing again. I'm a rebel. Slept for a solid 2 hours this afternoon before class, anxiousness didn't let me sleep too well last night. Went to Civil Rights class and was bored out of my mind. Old Man River tells us to read things then spends the whole class time reading the same things to us crazy. After class I headed home to meet Mom and go see baby Amelie. I almost made it all the way there...then I had my first run in with the Officers of the law. Apparently I was speeding, which I do not deny, but I was not going as fast as I was told I was. I never speed and my brothers say I drive like a grandma but apparently the excitement had me in a hurry. I am now a felon with some fun tickets to pay my life away on. Mom and I picked up Aunt Kathy then went to the hospital. Amelie is in an incubator and oxygen hood so we had to go one at a time to see her. It was like staring at 9 lbs worth of answered prayers. It was the craziest feeling, so relieving, just seeing her move and breath and be big and healthy and just...perfect. All babies are miracles but this one just seems extra special. We talked to Jim and Amy for awhile then came back home. I had a quick dinner of Easter leftovers then back to school again. I went to Encounter which was good as always. This weeks hymn was "Because He Lives," another favorite. These words were particularly meaningful today: "How sweet to hold a newborn baby, And feel the pride and joy she gives; But greater still the calm assurance: This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!" And with that I must be off.

Printer Problems

Two more weeks of classes until another break, I am counting down the days. I got up at 10:45 this morning kind of evens out since I went to bed at 2ish. Got up and headed to work for an hour. I did my class reading for the day twas exciting. Grabbed lunch with my teammates, there weren't very good choices today. Then I went to the library for a project meeting for my middle school class. We got a lot of work done. Then things got crazy. I had 5 minutes till my next class and needed to print off my paper for it. I tried and it wouldn't work on the computers we were on I figured it was because it was a Mac. So I tried the PC's downstairs to no avail. My class was now starting and I still had no paper. My only option was to go back to my room and get it off my computer. Luckily I had my bike I sped to my dorm and ran up the stairs hit print and nothing came out. Turns out I was out of black ink, blue it was. I arrived to class 10 minutes late thinking I had missed the daily quiz. Turns out we didn't have one that day and there was no need for my crazy hurrying. After class I played a quick game of pickup with the girls I couldn't stay because I had a panel discussion at 5. The discussion was actually great 3 middle school teachers, 1 associate principal/ad, and a counselor came in and talked to us and answered questions. Also our teacher bought us pizza and made yummy deserts so that was a bonus. Came home took a shower and apparently worn out took a quick nap before Bible Study. This week we studied Acts 4 we were surprised with how unfamiliar we were with most of it. Now I need to get things in order for the morning. I picked up an extra shift 4 straight hours of fun.

Food

Ahh I have surpassed the halfway mark of the week. Went to BJHS this morning we had meetings with our head teacher. She told me what I already know, that my students are frustrating. No real shock there. Then I picked up my girl and we did math homework, yeah slope. Came home and changed but actually wore real pants all day, that's a rarity these days. Went to work where I did little work. I talked to Mal and Cols, and pretty much just messed around on the Internet. While getting paid, tough work. Drove my car back to the dorm then walked to the DugOut for lunch. This year I have uncovered a strong like of hummus. Who'd a thunk it? It's mighty tasty on Pita bread which I had along with some carrots, celery, and yogurt. Yummy bunny food. Headed to the library to watch a film for Civil Rights. Sat there for 1o minutes and Old Man River never came. We decided to go to the classroom and there he was, he handed back papers then decided we should go watch the movie in the library, ugh. The movie was on the Black Panther's interesting stuff. We got out late because we started late so I had 20 minutes before I had to go listen to a speaker. I decided to grab a smoothie from Freshens. Bad choice. Now I am no coinsurer, this was like my 2nd ever, but I don't think they are supposed to have fibrosis strings in them resembling fluffy dandelions. It was growdy. Then came my speaker Dan Brown he is an innercity teacher who wrote a book. He was actually really good, things like that just make me want to be done with school and have my own classroom. Met the teammates for dinner, pulled pork and baked potatoes then headed back. The night has been spent writing a paper on NCLB and the Olympia School district, engaging. Now I'm thinking a showing of the "Sandlot" sounds good.

Random

So I've been thinking lately how it would be nice to have a shoe horn and a sleep mask. Every one keeps telling me I'm a dork, but hey I feel as if they would be useful. I mean I won't have to wrap a blanket around my head to sleep, believe me it's not safe. And a shoe horn, who doesn't want one. Actually made it to class on time today, a minor victory. I really can't remember what we talked about but I do remember telling some story about velociraptors. I am a little weird sometimes. Came back to the room and did some homework. My Microsoft Word doesn't work anymore but I discovered how to open Word files in Works, good enough. Wrote a paper then went to the library. I had a bunch of forms to print out. Grabbed a DugOut lunch, BLT, and ate it in class. Middle School class was all about Integrated Units...and eating candy, we love candy. In Sociology we watched a movie called In Sickness and in Wealth. It was actually interesting. Did you know the US is the richest nation but is 30th in life expectancy for developed countries? It's because Americans don't know how to share, to give their excess to help, and it's actually killing us slowly. Played pick-up in the arena today it's weird to play in there but we had fun like always. Grabbed a lovely cafeteria dinner, really it was a grilled cheese but it was still good. Went back to the library and printed off more forms. I really have done nothing all night I did watch the new episode of SVU though so I'm happy. I'll do the rest of my homework tomorrow.

Unproductive

Wow I really did nothing today, well of academic work anyways. Got up and headed to BJHS we worked on writing demonstration speeches. How to make a paperclip bracelet and how to make a fortune teller. I know how to do neither I wasn't much help. I was supposed to observe like every Monday but I didn't want to so I left. I will make the notes up, observing is just SO boring. Came back and slept for 2 hours, apparently the 10 I got last night didn't catch me up. Got up and went to turn in my waitlist papers for next semester. Ate some cold steak cause I don't like to reheat things and went to class. Class with Old Man River was a bore per the usual. I read the Biography of Malcolm X while he talked. Came back to the room and watched some SVU my true passion in life. I was planning on writing one of my papers but for some reason I cannot get word to work on my computer. I have never had a problem before it is confusing and inconviencing me. Kelsey called so I picked her up and we went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. I had been craving that for awhile it hit the spot, she had a gift card to pay for it so it was doubly good. Then we went and patroled the mall for sheer joy. We had a fight about where it is legal to park at JC Penney's I am right and that's all that matters. Dropped her off took a quick shower then went to Encounter. It was a hard decision to pull away from the game but when I left MSU was down 15 and I threw in the towel. Service was good lots of worship which I like. As for opening day Cubs win and Cards lose just the way I like it. Teeth need brushing.

Birthday Party

I'm tired, I guess a weekend of no sleep will do that too you, oops. Colton was born yesterday. I am really wanting to go meet him but at least saw a picture today. That will do...but not for long. Spent all day yesterday hanging out with Kels doing a whole lot of nothing but having fun. We went out to eat with my teammates and Kelsey showed them my old yearbook pictures. What can I say I was a looker:) Slept little and got up early and headed home for church. Service was short because of Easter breakfast, good and good. Hung out talking to Beth, Troy, and Lys for awhile they crack me up. Went home and waited for Brent before heading to Peoria for Kacy's 30th birthday party. It was fun and good to see everyone, I kind of like them. I got to play with Ella for awhile she's too cute and I'm only mildly biased. Kip was killing me he is so very protective. As much as it may annoy me sometimes I love him none the less. Kac like the scrapbook I helped Grandma make her so I guess my laborious hours were not spent in vain. We took Grandma home then headed home ourselves. I watched some SVU and did laundry before heading to work. I stopped by Grandma and Grandpa's on the way and realized I left my phone at home. I turned around picked it up and was only 30 minutes late to work, oh well. Work was boring and my eyes are heavy.

Finchum Fun

Yesterday was crazy full of class then pick-up. I love getting to see my teammates. Grabbed dinner together then I had Bible Study. We stayed overnight at the campus house it was lots of fun. Got up this morning and off to work. Suprisingly I got less sleep than usuall but was more awake. Next it was off to the 6th grade. The kids were cracking me up today, they were really happy to see me for some reason. They were all kind of wound too one of their classmates was moving away. Came back and registered for next falls classes. Two El. Ed. courses and 2 History courses, joys. Met Amber and the girls for lunch at Chili's. Those kids are too funny, I walk into the restuarant and they get hyper. I don't even do anything as much as they want to blame it on me I think they are just crazy kids. After Chili's we went to Gordmans. I entertained Lex and Paige while Amber shopped. We were having fun trying on jewlry and playing with toys. We stopped by Gene's for ice cream then they headed home. I came back to my room chilled for a bit and finished some paper work. My transfer of credit for math worked!! That was exciting. I had made plans to go to Atlanta before they came here so I decided to rent a movie and hang out there for the night. We went to Fred and Sue's for awhile and hung out then headed to Lincoln for pizza. Kennadie was making me laugh she would fuss because it was too dark for her to see me and the girls. She won we drove home with a little light on, happy babies are good. We played around for a bit and I got to hold Kennadie for awhile. There's something about snuggling a baby that just makes you happy. Then we popped some popcorn and watched the movie I picked Marley & Me. It was good with the obvious sadness at the end. Amber was trying to put me on house arrest and make me stay, being the rebel I am I said my farewells and headed back here. It was a nice night of bonding. Now I need to catch up on sleep.

We All Hustlers

Ahh the relief of finishing a weeks worth of projects too bad it gears back up for next week. BJHS was not bad again today. We worked on history projects and a math worksheet lovely. Came back and changed, nice clothes are not class clothes. Headed to work where I drew a picture for the Encounter art gallery. It's kind of cool but hard to explain without seeing it. Made this song get stuck in my head, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tmuxxc00AHo. After work I met with my advisor again not really sure why just went over some paper work and what all the random meetings we've had. Grabbed lunch at Tommy's. I ate while watching "Cow and Chicken," that show was awesome! Then off to boring ol Civil Rights Class. Old Man River actually used the phrase "I'm a hustler. We all hustlers." He was talking about Malcolm X and went off on some tangent. The guy is crazy. After class I watched the end of SVU then went to the library for yet another project meeting for sociology. We got our paper done and put together and then made a power point. We also came up with an activity and a hand out. Two presentations tomorrow sounds joyous. When I got done at the library I took my bike out for a light ride. I love my bike. Ate dinner at the Dugout with some of the teammates, they crack me up. The rest of the night was spent here in my room chilling out. I finished my drawing (well almost) and wrote a paper. Now I wanna watch TV.

Accomplishing

Wow what a crazy full, busy, and actually accomplishing day. Rolled out of bed for class this morning as the semester wears on mornings seem to get earlier and earlier. Turned in my paper (only 2 more for that class!) and sat through some rather boring lecture. Came back to my room and worked on my history paper and a worksheet. I had a Sociology meeting at 12:45 so off I trucked, pizza rolls in hand. Middle School class was engaging as always. We played this game today where we passed around a bowl full of questions and you had to answer which ever one you pulled out. It was fun and interesting to hear everyones answers. Sociology was utterly boring today. The lecture was on NCLB I have heard enough of those this year I did not pay attention. We started pick up today. It's suprising how out of shape you can get in a few weeks. Everyone was a little slow but it was great to see everyone and be back together. I missed playing ball and I missed my teammates. The seniors are even going to keep playing with us which is awesome. Showered then we all headed to dinner, I wasn't too hungry but had some beef brisket. Then I had a project meeting for Sociology. We wrote our entire group paper, now all thats left is our power point. I escaped from the library for 2 hours during which I watched the new SVU episode. It was awesome. Speaking of SVU check this out, http://www.nbc.com/Law_and_Order_Special_Victims_Unit/video/clips/sesame-street-special-letters-unit/34896/. I think it's funny and well I love Sesame Street. I also got my history paper done hurray!! Then at 11 I had a meeting for my middle school class, we are teaching on Thursday. Well it has been a long day and it is time to relax.
